Ha. You know you’ve really arrived when you’re the subjected of a Saturday Night Live parody. Here is a faux commercial for SNL guest, Michael Buble’s “Christmas Duets” album featuring Sting, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and…Scotty McCreery! Scotty, played by featured player, Taran Killam. Michael stares at him as he holds a real real low note.

Check it out below.

LOL, yes Scotty you have arrived.  Very fun parody.  Love it when idol meets pop culture head on!

Yeah, that was hilarious. The only funny snl episode this season sadly :/ I remember when snl would mock idol more often. Involving the judges and contestants. Snl is shit now but the days of jimmy, tina, haratio and amy were funny. Weekend update isn’t even that great anymore.

I liked best Gaga/christmas tree, Scotty and Taylor Swift. LOL.

I did’t know that M.I.A. person, but had to laugh at Michael Bubblé’s reaction. Great comic timing.

SNL only spoofed only 1 other Idol winner- Taylor Hicks and that was way funnier than McCreery. Taylor’s spoof was a one-off and not part of a series of other celebs. Wish I could find that video. It was in April of ’06.

This was adorable and funny. And I love Jimmy Fallon.

Thanks! Yea that was it! LOL…. if I remember correctly, Taylor was parodied 2x on SNL, matter of fact.

Saturday Night Live’s Taylor Hicks Spoof

Thanks for looking Judy… it’s out there for sure in videoland! But yea, Taylor was also the subject of a hysterial spoof by Wierd Al Yankovic!  When you’re spoofed/satired that much, you definitely made it in pop culture psyche, that’s for sure.

At least SNL did a McCreery spoof…. one feather in his cap, at least.

Taylor was spoofed during his season of Idol. Getting spoofed months after Idol has ended shows you have a little more staying power…or, that SNL happens to have a guy with brown hair who can sing with a deep voice. :)

Both the video & the You tube [its been removed] don’t work over here but I just happened to see some of this on a Morning Show  -without Scotty of course as no-one apart from me & my family knows who he is down here. The skits I did see were very funny & I loved the Lady Gaga Christmas tree!!

Just noticed something. Did they just refer to Scotty as a chart-topper? Because they said “Featuring chart toppers like Kesha….And American Idol winner Scotty McCreery.”

I thought that was pretty awesome.

  • amaryl

    And the winking..LOL!

  • amaryl

Don’t really care for this impersonation. They make ‘Scotty’ look ‘not-right’.

Though it’s nice of SNL to think of Scotty.

  • milwlovesadam

This was funny. Watched it last night. Loved it when they spoofed Adam a couple of times with his wail, a couple of seasons ago.

The whole episode was funny last night. Fallon is comic gold. And musical to boot.

Michael Buble is always hilarious on SNL, there was a skit when Jon Hamm and Michael Buble where John Hamm essentially kidnapped him and made him sing, it was called “Ham and Bubbly” — hilarious:

Scotty’s impression was funny, Jimmy F was hilarious, but I personally think that Kristen Wiig is a genius.

  • Indigobunting

Oh my; I just loved that!  I was up North for the weekend, but saw it live on TV- I literally ROFLMAO at all the impressions- SO funny!  And Jimmy Fallon is a genius- he was spot on; from his Sting trills (my husband’s favorite singer, lol) to the twangy, pitchy Scotty.  Don’t worry Scotty- it isn’t a bad thing to be mad fun of on SNL, lol.

I agree with those who think Matt Giraud looks like a thinner version of Michael Buble :)

  • Tera2

That was really funny – especially the parts with Scotty deep voice, Lady gaga, Tailor Swift and Kanye shoving Buble aside and taking over and rapping had me laughing.

  • MissMyEm

That was hilarious.   Jimmy Fallon is brilliant.
