Saturday Night Live – Josh Hutcherson Skits (VIDEO)

Saturday Night Live - Season 39

Hey. Have you seen the new movie, Catching Fire, yet? A Hunger Games fan perhaps? If you answered yes to both questions, you undoubtedly knew that Josh Hutcherson, the actor who plays Peeta Mellark, hosted Saturday Night Live this week.

Check out a few of the best skits.

Cold Open

“I am Piers Morgan, the tiny little fool of news” Ha ha ha ha.

Josh Hutcherson – Monologue

The cast invades, turning the skit into a Hunger Games spoof. Josh had no idea the Hunger Games was a book. Ha ha.

Grown Baby Sketch

Beck Bennett shows Josh Hutcherson around his new office job. Twist: He’s a grown baby. Uhm.

Josie Sketch

Hey. It’s an SNL/The Voice crossover! Well, not really. It’s the 80’s, and for some inexplicable reason “Your Love” by Outfield is the center of a sketch. (The Voice contestant, Austin Jenckes sang it earlier this week. And then he was eliminated.)

Weekend Update – Worst Lady on an Airplane

Aidy Bryant is that annoying lady on a plane.

I really liked last week’s show with Gaga….it had multiple funny bits throughout. Most shows I enjoy the musical guest and a few sketches.
But wow. this is the worst show I’ve seen in quite awhile. The Piers Morgan opening was pretty good and Kate McKinnon was great in the monologue as Elizabeth Bank’s Hunger Games character. But after that it went completely downhill.

    Lorne Michaels should be embarrassed.

The only skit I liked was the animal hospital one. The rest was horrendous.

Maybe there is something wrong with my fun-o-meter because I’ve come across several really positive reviews of the show. Paste Magazine who isn’t known to be especially liberal with their praise gave the show an over all 8 out of 10.

These are sketches, not skits. Might want to start referring to them as what they are. There is a clear difference… The writing on SNL is getting better as the season goes along, but I definitely preferred the Gaga show over this one.
