Sanjaya Malakar was eliminated from I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here tonight. Two out of the five remaining contestants were eliminated from the show, including Patti Blagojevich, wife of shamed Chicago ex-governor, Rod Blagojevich who, along with Sanjaya, took the long walk across the bridge and out of the jungle.

Remaining contestants, Actor, Lou Diamond Phillips, former pro-basketball player, John Salley and pro-wrestler Torrie Wilson are left to compete in tomorrow night’s final.

Sanjaya was a fierce and fearless competitor, winning 9 of the 12 trials he competed in. He made it to the Top 5! One place further than his 6th place finish on American Idol, Season 6. He sheds a few tears at the end. eta: correction–Sanjaya finished 7th during Season 6

Sanjaya says he’s going to miss his BFF Holly Montag the most, but he’ll see her again, when all the contestants–including Heidi and Spencer Pratt are back in camp tomorrow for the big finale.

Sanjaya was outstanding on this show – fearless, even! He was totally robbed and should have won it. I have completely reversed my opinion of him after watching this.

  • oceana

I love Sanjaya so much. He did himself proud on this show and let the world know what a caring, sweet, brave young man he is. His father/son relationship with Lou Diamond Phillips was beautiful. I hope they stay in touch.

  • lilbrusc102

aw, I was really rooting for Sanjaya…he was quite the wilderness man on this show….fearless indeed.

  • maracaibo

Actually I think Sanjaya finished 7th not 6th on Idol.

I think I am right but someone correct me if I am wrong.

  • Sunn

I think Lou wins it. I love Lou.

    ETA:

God this show is boring. Which is quite surprising because the British version is comedy gold. I love our version of this show. Even Janet was hilarious in it.
I think it’s a problem with hosts. We have the ever snarky Ant and Dec, the same two guys that host BSG. The hosts on this show are as serious as the grave and as dull as the spade that dug it.

  • CindyM

Awww..I watched not one second of this show. But secretly, I was rooting for Sanjaya.

Awww Sanjaya. He totally deserved to win. I’m kinda sad he was eliminated.

  • holeighannie

Suuuch bullshit, Sanjaya was the best competitor, I can’t believe he went home, haha. And the fact that Patti didn’t go before him…grr. I hope John Salley wins, he’s been pretty hilarious the whole time.

The hosts really aren’t that bad. And I don’t think they’re nearly as serious as one might assume, Damien (?) spent half his time making fun of Janice until she got sent home. Which was awesome.

  • iluvai

Sanjaya was outstanding on this show – fearless, even! He was totally robbed and should have won it. I have completely reversed my opinion of him after watching this.

Agree!!! I was so wanting him to win it. But Lou is my 2nd fave.

  • shadow-rider

Its funny. I was so glad when he was booted from AI but tonight I was sad that he didn’t make it to the finale and more so win it. He was my first choice and Lou was my second. But now I don’t know. I kinda want Torrie to win cuz I would love to see Salley’s face when a girl beats him. He’s not good at losing. And I have to admit I got into this show because of Sanjaya. Now I guess I got to watch the finale since I’ve made it this far. And even though some call it the ‘fake romance’ I thought it was cute when he and Holly were together. When she returned that boys face just lit up. It was definitely an Awwwww moment.

I have to say Sanjaya sure has won me as a fan after this. Its crazy but true. LOL

  • abbysee

I’ve always liked Sanjaya. Just not enough to watch this show. I do hope that this leads to something good for him, I think he’s an awesome, interesting, kind soul. He was too good for this show, lol.

  • shadow-rider

He was too good for this show

Actually he made the show good. There was no way I could even sit through one episode of this crap if he hadn’t been on it. I mean I can’t believe I actually watched the last few episodes of this show. LOL Its embarrassing but true.

  • CFIdolsfan

Actually I think Sanjaya finished 7th not 6th on Idol.

I think I am right but someone correct me if I am wrong.

You are right, :-) . I know because my favorite, Phil Stacey, finished 6th, with Chris Richardson. 5th, although some place both at 5th place. But back to Sanjaya, I have not watched the episode yet because of a busy schedule, but I agree that he deserved to win it. It was between him and Lou for me. I do hope, too, that they keep in touch.

  • TwigLA

I only saw parts of this show. Nothing worth watching on so I just channel surf until I fall asleep. But what I saw of Sanjaya was actually pretty surprising. He did good on the show and seemed quite fierce as a competitor and well liked by his camp mates.

  • auntieaimee

He deserved to make it to the end; the kid had NO FEAR. What a shame. LDP FTW!

  • Kaykohl

Sanjaya was very likeable on this show. However, I’ve always found him likeable and I’ve never been able to relate to why he was so ganged up on while he was on AI.

The attraction between Sanjaya and Holly was a surprise. It was natural for them to gravitate towards each other because they are so close in age. But the attraction looked very real to me. I got the impression that Sanjaya was truely into Holly and not in the BFF way.

The flirtation going on between him and Holly was the real deal and not an act for the cameras. And to think all this time I did indeed think he was the perfect gay bff. I’ve changed my thinking about Sanjaya.

  • Dr. Tracey

Darn that’s a bummer, I thought he was going to win.

  • janerazor

I was sad to see Sanjaya go. He really got into the spirit of the game and became “Jungle Boy” (followed by “Rainforest Man,” lol). The clips of him singing in camp were great too. I found it hilarious when he was singing about John Salley cooking veggies.

And our lil’ papaya was just plain awesome at the trials! You cannot take that away from him! Now if only they would do a celebrity edition of Amazing Race, I think he would be a ringer.

  • snuffles

I’m sad. ***sigh*** Well, hopefully America finally got the chance to see the REAL Sanjaya and will finally learn to appreciate him.

I hope he gets more opportunities from this. I think he would rock on “Dancing With The Stars”!

  • JustWatching

Not a Sanjaya fan so I’m glad he was booted last night. His boohoo tears were no surprise either. Was also glad to see Patty booted. I’d be fine with any of the other three winning.

  • jodeb

I am a huge Sanjaya fan and only watched the show because of him (I never would have tuned in otherwise)

The show is not fantastic, but it is warm and the interactions between the contestants was interesting, but IMO, it was Sanjaya that lit up the screen with his huge smile, warmth and shy but heartfelt style.

His romance was cute and very enjoyable. If it wasn’t sincere, then Sanjaya is a great actor, if it was real, then more credit to him that he found a little *love* on the show.

I am not bummed out about him leaving. He actually made it to the end and he will *probably* be back for the finale with his BFF. Do they all come back? I think so, so if they do, he actually will not miss an episode.

I am hoping this leads to bigger things for him. I can just see him as the new *Sabu* and would love to see him starring in a remake of “Thief of Bagdad” or any of the other Sabu movies.

I think Sanjaya is unique and like no other and that’s what is always needed in show biz.

    GO SANJAYA!!!!!

  • bootslacrosse

I never liked Sanjaya on AI but I am a fan of him after watching him on this show. Fearless and entertaining.

  • sallyas1

My first thought was how he went out much too late on Idol and much too early on Celebrity. I was hoping for Lou and Sanjaya for the final 3, and didn’t really care who the 3rd was (as long as it wasn’t Patty). Now I’m hoping for Lou to win.

Not sure how this can lead to bigger and better things for Sanjaya though. Yeah he was great on this show, but I don’t see how that translates to anything else. Though maybe just the attention will help.

  • Tess

Aw, the kid does have balls. He’s taken a lot of hits the last few years and he’s kept his head together. He pretty much sees it all as it really is. He’ll keep on making money for taking the ridicule and will be laughing all the way to the bank.

  • Lexus

I have to admit that Sanjaya won me over on this show. He seems like a really nice, cool guy. He really should have won it, but so long as Lou does now, watching the show wasn’t a wasted effort. Since I’m confessing anyway, I’ll admit to finding Janice quite entertaining too!

  • iluvai

I agree with those that said Sanjaya should have won it. I’m very impressed by him on this show. I’m routing for Lou now. Sanjaya you rock sweetie. Great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
