Season 6 Idol, Sanjaya Malakar will take part in a concert with Seattle’s Total Experience Gospel Choir on Friday, March 19 to raise funds for Haiti Relief. Sanjaya performed with the choir as a teen, before he was a contestant on Idol.

The event will take place at Seattle’s Daniels Recital Hall at Fifth and Marion in downtown Seattle (the former First United Methodist Church). The concert begins at 7:00 p.m. Suggested donation at the door is $10/person or whatever people are willing to donate.

After the jump, check out Sanjaya in a promo for the event. He and the choir sing “Swing Lo, Sweet Chariot” via Rickey.org.

Cause they really care where the money comes from? :(

Good for Sanjaya. The hair is really scary though…. BTW, he sounds pretty good.

Sanjaya has come a long way from the time he was on Idol. Wonder how he would fare if he were to compete now for AI. When he was on Idol, he was so off pitch and not in tune most of the time, but now he sings much better. Good for him……

Sanjaya brought a lot to his season. My Mom and I both luved him. And voted for him. Could use some of that for this boooorrrriiing season.

There was nothing boring about Sanjaya, and he brought in a lot of viewership to his season. I hope he does well.
