BIG SURPRISE!  Downton Abbey wins Outstanding Ensemble In A Drama Series award. They few cast members who were able to attend seemed truly shocked.

Dick Van Dyke was honored with a Life Achievement Award. Alec Baldwin presented.

“It was an actor that killed Lincoln,” said Daniel Day Lewis on receiving his award for Outstanding Male Actor in a Leading role, “It’s only fitting that an actor tries to bring him back from time to time.” Ha!

Kind of over Modern Family winning the cast award every year.  TBBT anyone?

30 Rock?  Sorry but I disagree with this win just like I did last year.

While I’m kind of over Modern Family winning, Parks & Recreation wasn’t even nominated and they would be the cast I’d most want to win.  That’s one of the most underappreciated comedic casts on television IMO.

  • fuzzywuzzy

This is 30 Rock’s last season, so I think that’s why Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey won.

  • supersonic

With them giving it to Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey, I thought the 30 Rock cast was going to win.  I’m happy that the Modern Family cast won.  I enjoy that cast.  At least it wasn’t Glee.  They shouldn’t even be there.

  • supersonic

    Yes!  Bryan Cranston!

  • Stavros

Jessica Chastain was brilliant in Zero Dark Thirty and was completely snubbed for Best Actress.

  • Stavros

Also Amy Poehler should have beaten Tina Fey. Parks and Rec should have definitely gotten a best cast nod.

  • lovesickheroine

Yay! so glad Claire Danes and Jennifer Lawrence won!

It always amazes me to see The Walking Dead get shafted. Oh well, it certainly is a winner in the ratings.

  • Indigobunting

Modern Family is my favorite non-cable show :)
    They deserve the win!
    Understated brilliance

    And Bryan Cranston <3

“My name is Darren Criss, and I’m an acorn”

    LOL

While in theory I agree, I’m not surprised Tina beat Amy since 30 Rock is on the way out, and while it’s an acting award, the show is Tina’s baby and I think the award was continued recognition for that.  I do hope that Amy might eventually get the recognition she deserves though.

If it were up to me, which it’s obviously not, Glee would have gotten bumped from Best Ensemble all together in favor of Parks & Rec.

Unrelated, all I could think tonight when watching Dick Van Dyke accept his award that they should really get him on Modern Family to play Phil’s grandfather.  I never really noticed the similarity between him and Ty Burrell until tonight.

  • EvenMoreron

Alec Baldwin won for the seventh time in a row. It’s been a clean sweep since he started playing Jack Donaghy. Sorry Steve Carrell and Jim Parsons!

I can’t take Claire Danes facial expressions anymore. She needs to try subtlety.

    He’s so cute.

Is Dick Van Dyke the same guy in Mary Poppins with the horrific cockney?
