Ryan Seacrest interviews Katrina Darrell (Bikini Girl)

Ryan Seacrest accuses Katrina Darrell (Bikini Girl) of creating drama on purpose to get more screen time, in an interview this morning on his KISS FM radio show.

He also gets her to admit that she only auditioned for Idol for the exposure, and didn’t care about winning.

When Ryan calls her “polarizing,” Katrina responds, “a lot of girls are haters.”

As far as letting her group mates, Rose Flack, Jasmine Murray and Lauren Barnes down during their group number, she insists that she didn’t, and calls them all “two faced.”

She doesn’t have any kind words for Kara DioGuardi either, who she says would praise her in the judges room, then call her a bitch behind her back.

When Katrina says she wants to move on to “bigger things” like going on tour, making a record and becoming a Victoria Secret runway model, Ryan asks her, sarcastically, if she would be modeling clothes on stage during her tour.

He says, “You’re lacking ambition, is what you’re saying.”

When a listener makes the observation that a really good singer would not have needed to wear a bikini to the audition. Ryan responds, “Duh!”

Duh, indeed.

    I hate that she even got the opportunity to be interviewed by Ryan….thankfully she’s gone and will barely be a speck on everyone’s memory by next week’s shows *crosses fingers* But hey, she played it all perfectly….she got quite a bit out of an average audition. She’s not even really model pretty….she’s more like ho pretty lol

    It is beyond annoying the amount of airtime devoted to her. While I guess the coverage this woman is getting and attention AI is getting is all TPTB care about, it’s us viewers who must suffer this fool. Then to give her even more attention on his radio show? It kills me. Talented people from AI past to present, are given MUCH LESS airtime and promotion while have for MORE talent: Melinda Doolittle and Diana DeGarmo being some examples.

    I’m with the ‘Ryan, why did you even bother to interview her?’ crowd.

    Why reward negative behaviour with free publicity, unless it is all part of a scripted melodrama. Maybe TPTB struck a deal with Katrina from day one, act like an idiot, albeit a photogenic idiot and we’ll give loads of camera time. And ratings will go up.
    How else could anyone explain the camera being allowed into the hotel room with Katrina under the covers, clearly an invasion of a normal person’s privacy.

    And to think a 16-year-old was stuck in the middle of this perverted marketing scheme.

    If Kara wasn’t around, I would think the producers would have sensed enough in her to keep her around even longer – possibly to the top 36 – as the fighting may have got to the best of them.

    She may be the one who saves the show…
