Are you bat-sh*t crazy? Is an out-of-control phobia ruining your life? Do you need help? Your savior could be…Ryan Seacrest!

Ryan and his production company are teaming up with “world-renowned” therapist, Paul McKenna to produce a television show, tentatively named, “The Incurables”.

Each episode features McKenna going into the homes of two ‘incurable’ people with different psychological and/or physical condition. Cameras will capture the drama as the therapist works “tirelessly and aggressively” to save their lives.

Some of the phobias under consideration: Agoraphobia, (fear of leaving the house), Social Disorders (inability to socialize or “fit in”), compulsive shopping and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Ryan Seacrest Productions is looking for victims, casting the show right now.  If you have a serious phobia and are interested in participating in the show, call 323-463-3340.  Read more HERE.

Or, maybe find a good psychiatrist? I totally don’t get working out personal issues in front a camera. Can’t see how that would work out in favor of the afflicted at all.

Ohhh, cool! Maybe they can have some BSC Idol fans on and cure them?

  • Nina1

I think this “reality” thing is officially wayyyyyy out of hand.

This is so disappointing. Stuff like this invariably takes advantage of mentally and physically sick people who cannot afford their own care. Ryan and Mr. (Dr??) McKenna will justify it by saying that they are helping people who can’t get help elsewhere, but if they really wanted to help people, they would raise funds for a charity to assist such helpless souls rather than broadcast people with freakish disabilities so the audience has someone they can feel superior to. This is not humanitarian at all.

Sinking to new lows of poor taste and exploitation. I have some mental illness in my family, and let me tell you that a session in front of the camera for people with very, very challenging brain-wiring conditions (which many of them are) is NOT a good idea.

Seacrest, are you really this much of a TV slut?

    not a good idea… DNW

lol i was totally thinking of BSC idol fans too

This show will be shows on A&E – network that created a lot of very good TV series with similar subject, like “Intervention” or “Hoarders” – some of them were nominated for Emmy, “Intervention” actually used in rehab clinics to help patients with addictions, and this network is known for threating such subjects with respect and subtlety.

If they bring BSC idol fans to the show, I’ll watch it :)

(Are Reality shows producer’s out of ideas?)

What a disgusting idea. I have lost all respect for Ryan. Televised therapy is a joke, and is just a mockery of the situation, and that includes shows like hoarders and intervention.

Reality shows are getting seriously out of hand when they stoop to this level. If they can find a few “cast members” to exploit for the big screen, they can certainly find them privately just as easily and help them as a charity effort. You know, I can just see Ryan huddling together with the biz peeps and excitedly presenting this concept for a television show. Wow, what was he thinking? Oh, nevermind, he was thinking $$$ of course. Shame on him.

    Televised therapy is a joke

Show “Intervention” (produced by same person who produces this show with Ryan and his company) used in rehab clinics by doctors and therapists to help people with addictions – that’s how good this show actually is.

Ugh! Definitely a new low in reality shows!

The first sentence of this post made me LMAO.

    Am I bat-s*** crazy?
    I really hope not.

The first line reminded me of the I Love Lucy episode where she does that crazy commercial about medicine. “Are you tired? worn down? Do you poop out at parties?”

ok… maybe the fact that I remembered that makes me bat-s*** crazy

  • koshka

I think this is really Ryan’s call for help. He must have hit rock bottom with his narcissism. ;)

Ryan!!! We hear your call for help!! *snicker*

  • luval

yes, I could be on this show…”Addicted to Saint Adam F*cking Lambert”. But then again, I don’t want to be cured.

  • JoCeeisme

Well anyone that thinks AL is a saint definitely needs therapy, lol!!

  • BootStar

Oh, sweet baby Jesus. Ryan is now a televangelist! He can lay hands on all these poor BSC folks and declare them “healed.”

This is not humanitarian at all.

It is a new low for Ryan and I thought Simon’s show Cupid was bad.

  • AndreaH

“Paul McKenna is not a “world-renowned therapist”. He does not have a medical degree. The “I Can Make You Thin” self-help hawker is a hypnotist.

It appears that Ryan will do anything to keep his face on TV. How sad.

I’m so concerned about this. I am also wondering who this “world renowned” therapist is? Is he licensed to practice or is he some fame whore. As a psychologist, I can’t imagine that he is actually acting in accordance with the ethics of his field of therapy. This is such a bad idea.
Even hoarders is a bad idea. Treatment for this type of illness is not what they show on TV and can actually be more emotionally damaging in the long run. The show Buried Alive is a more accurate and humane intervention. I can’t imagine what they will be doing on this new “reality” show.

  • emme

AndreaH….I didn’t read your post until I had posted. This guy is a fame whore. I can’t believe that this has even been picked up. It is like Dr. Phil, who is not licensed to practice at all, since losing his license to practice in Texas 25 years ago.
A license to practice means that you have demonstrated the “minimal competence” to practice in your field….so imagine what someone doing this without a license or training would do to you!! I feel sad for these “incurables”
