Ryan Seacrest announces yet ANOTHER PROJECT as if he needed another. You know. The dude has a really hard time staying busy!

Wednesday, Bravo and Ryan Seacrest Productions announced plans for a new docu-series, “Shahs of Sunset” (working title), which will follow a group of young Persian-American friends who juggle living and working in Los Angeles while balancing the demands of their families and traditions.

The series will showcase the group’s luxurious lifestyles from over-the-top shopping sprees to traditional yet lavish family feasts in their sprawling homes. Unafraid to flaunt their designer clothing, tricked-out cars and boisterous personalities, spending money is no foreign concept to these young socialites but also treasure the value of family and Persian traditions.

“We’re pleased to bring this exciting new story of a distinct and compelling community of Los Angeles to the Bravo audience,” said Ryan, who will serve as executive producer of the show. “The series will offer rich characters and relatable storylines about everyday life — love, work, friendship and family — steeped in a diverse culture, which is wildly entertaining and fun.”

More boring rich people with time on their hands. So, will the Persian American community get the “Jersey Shore” treatment? Or will Ryan make a point of avoiding stereotypes? Hmmmm.

Surely, we must be reaching a saturation point on this by now?

Well, now there’s something American TV just doesn’t have enough of LOL. Of course, since this is a Bravo show, these people may all be living on credit, one step away from bankruptcy, just like all of those Housewives chicks.

I’m just not sure that the US TV audience needs anymore lessons in how to get themselves buried in debt. Clearly, as a country, we’re already quite good at that.

I’d like to produce a show about people working hard for their money and then, ya’ know, actually saving some. A family that has dinner conversations about 401k’s, IRAs and paying off your credit cards promptly at the end of every billing cycle. A show where shopping is something you do only because you need stuff, and you have REAL hobbies like athletics, the arts, volunteering, etc.

Alas, it appears these days too many people want to see copius consumption and grotesque beasts screaming at each other. I enjoy the competitive reality shows with contestants who have actual talent. But, this peering into the lives of people who actually deserve a swift punch in the face, is just nauseating to me.

Nope. Won’t be tuning into this. I haven’t forgiven Ryan for The Kardashians.

Amen sister. I give Ryan credit for being such an astute businessman and figuring out how to parlay his hosting gigs into media-mogulhood. But, making that family rich and famous should come with some punishment.

I could never watch those vain, shallow people or any of their spin-offs, as the deep pity I would feel for Bruce Jenner would be too much to take.

I’m not gonna lie…I’ll probably watch this.

Sounds as completely boring as at least half the reality shows on TV. I don’t wish Ryan ill, but with any luck this show will find no audience. It’s true I don’t have to watch such mindless fluff, but it will take up a slot on the schedule that something worthwhile might otherwise fill.

    Wow
Is Ryan even Persian? I don’t think so

Ryan will never be satisfied with too much on his plate. He likes producing tacky reality shows. This should get the attention of those who like shallow superficial shows like those housewives shows, and those who like the kadashians, and stupid shows like Jersey Shores. I only like to watch talent shows, not reality shows. Bravo will obviously cancel a good talent show about songwriters like Kara’s “Platinum Hit”, and replace it with this shallow reality show Ryan is producing.

Why can’t we have a reality show about how to eliminate the Kardashians from any media? I would tune into that, dvr it, watch it again, and pay out of pocket for a Wet Republic bash for the finale.

  • edisto

To me these shows are less reality and more like a comedy. These people on these shows are hilariously funny with their pretentious, above it all attitudes when most of them don’t really have the life they are portraying.

  • kuanna23

For someone with minimal talent, Ryan certainly has friends in high places. Can’t imagine taking time for this reality show.

I wanna see a reality show about Ryan

Me too! In particular, I would like to know more about the true nature of his ‘relationship’ with Julianne Hough.

    Now this I would watch..
To bad it didn’t happen during s9, when Ryan was a bit ‘out there’.

This sounds ridiculous. Just want we need is to see how rich people get to spend money and have a good time, while the rest of us that are trying to find jobs to support our families and just get by day to day, have to watch this crap. No thank you Ryan!
