Rising Star Ratings Hit a Series Low

Rising Star hits a series low this week. I think we’re one and done here.  Big Brother dips.

It’s hard to get big numbers in the summer. Really makes the AGT numbers, even after all these years, that much more impressive. At least Simon Cowell created one hit show in the USA.

  • RedMountainRanch

I hear more people at work mention they are tuning out because of how obviously biased the show is. you essentially know who is going to make it through and the overall winner is also obvious.

    ^THIS^

mj ,i think hit on the head in a earlier post and i quote

“When a contestant wins the popular vote, but loses a duel after the “experts” purposely refrain from voting for them, that’s not leaving ME with the feeling that I’m voting ANYONE through”

this show is one and done, hell i rather have x factor back over this

So Rising Star got beat in the demo by reruns of animated shows. Way to go Ken.

  • Eilonwy_has_an_emu

Hey, animated shows usually have lots of lively sound and motion!

I thought of watching RS, then remembered that the pacing is atrocious… three battles in an hour! Endless babble in order to see six frantic singers mangle their songs from terror, with the bonus of Brad All-Hat-No-Cattle Paisley and Kesha competing for who gets to be the loving mommy to this colorful gang of misfits…

Even a bad Simpson’s re-run makes more sense and has more things happen.

  • chillj

Yup. That and the talent and the judges are not inspiring.

Michael Slezak came up with a great title for his Rising Star review last night — Rising Star Recap: Unbearable Slightness of Singing. LOL! The highest score he gave was C+ for Gabrielle Nicole’s “River Deep, Mountain High.”

The show is so fixed. And the artists are vanilla. They were advertising this as “no judges. the audience picks”. Then it turns out that there are 3 music based celebs who critique them, even though they are not called “judges” it’s the same thing. Even worse, these people get 7% decision EACH. This show was misrepresented from the get-go.

Watched several times…just couldn’t get into either the contestants or the judges. No overwhelming talent that I saw, no one with the ‘WOW’ factor. And Ke$ha’s skirts were ridiculously short…

I’m done watching this joke of a show. Rather watch a repeat of Sing Your Face Off than than Falling Star…. hey that’s the right name for this show.

  • breakdown

This really is a horrible show and I hate being treated like I don’t have a brain.

The first season of American Idol was in the summer and it really became a hit. So it’s not impossible to have a hit in the summer. It just depends on the show and how popular it gets, which Rising Star isn’t.

  • JustJam

Honestly, the host, judges and the format are pretty good. The show has potential. The problem is most of the contestants that they recruited to compete in the show were lacklustre compared to those that appeared on other rival talent shows like AGT, The Voice & Idol. Plus, their official youtube channel manager can’t seem to make proper titles for their audition clips so word on the show didn’t spread online.

I feel bad for Josh Groban.
