These Idol twitters just show you how amazingly influential Michael Jackson was. It doesn’t matter if someone sings R&B, soul, country, rock or anything in between, Michael Jackson definitely influenced everyone who came after him in some way or another. The man was a musical icon and will always be a part of music history.

Here’s some more I’ve run across in case you haven’t seen them yet MJ:
DavidArchieOh my heck…. Really really sad to hear about Michael :(

I’ll be honest, I teared up when I heard the news. Nobody ever will mean as much to the music industry as he did. R.I.P King of Pop. So sad he was going to do a tour this summer.

This is truly upsetting to me…He really was an major influence in my music life right now. This is devastating… But Michael has left this world with a major influence that no one will ever forget.

Also there a few idols MJ you can post also, one in particular Kris Allen’s new twitter (KrisAllen4Real), Kris must be truly devastated since Michael Jackson is also one of his big musical influences, it all says in what he said on Twitter, “This is one of those moments in time you will never forget.” He is right, this day will be remembered forever.

It’s times like this that I absolutely hate twitter. I see it as a contest about who can tweet fast enough. I don’t think it makes sense at all. I also don’t know why a former Idol contestant tweetering about MJ makes his passing any more sad. I think it is within us or it isn’t. I don’t know that all the former contestants tweetering makes it any more important. It will go down as a truly horrendous event with or without the Idols. I’m not a huge Michael Jackson fan, nor have I ever been, but I do recognize his stamp on pop music. I just happen to not like pop music, so am not in a shambles over the event that looked promising a year ago. I’m truly not shocked. All the signs have been there for quite a while. I guess I’m a bit shocked that the man couldn’t get the help he needed…it’s oh so very obvious that he’s been needy for quite a while. Is it the same with Elvis that those getting paid want status quo and will let him kill himself slowly? Was there not one person who cared enough for the man to keep fighting for him? Did he allow anybody to care? Who knows…I just know I’m really not shocked…just saddened.

I don’t think Twitter is a contest, but more of a means of expression. And in an odd way it draws us all together when something like this happens, even if it’s in a very small way.

Was there not one person who cared enough for the man to keep fighting for him?

Yes there was gingerly, his father Joe. He and Katherine have a condo here in Vegas and he used to come into my place of business about once a week. He loved Michael dearly and professed it many times. I said to him at one encounter, “Hi Joe, and just how is Michael doing?” He replied, “Oh honey, not good, he has about 25 (?) different things wrong with him, so we are praying.” That was several years ago. I’m sure there were a multitude of others who cared for Michael! RIP

I take this news with a heavy heart. I have been a loyal fan even during his trial moments. When others walked away from him, I continued to believe in himà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦.a very sad day indeed.

I’m quite sure that his father never meant to do him any harm, but when you completely take away someone’s normal childhood, no matter how talented they are, well, some people just don’t respond to that well down the line. Lots of child stars are witness to that, and, really, MJ’s genius-level talents and the fact that he was sort of *leading* the group and was so heavily relied on as a very young child both had to put enormous pressure on him, making him grow up absurdly fast in some ways while other ways of maturing may have got hopelessly left behind and out of balance. To me, the whole “boy” thing and the Wonderland thing were him caught in a childhood he never had and grasping after it in a crippled and sad way as an adult. Very sad for him and others. I hope that he came to some peace in himself in the last few years. His story has just always been so sad to me and such an ironic thing to be connected to the amazing gift of music and dance he gave us all.

He will be missed and my prayers go out his family and friends. Truely a sad moment in music history.

I am in disbelief about Michael’s death – there is no one, no one on earth today that can take Michael Jackson’s place, black or white – but with that said I have already sent a message asking Adam Lambert to be our next Michael Jackson since he did a great job at performing his song “Black or White” on the AI show. Adam is a new star born and now we have the death of Michael Jackson – I hope he can mirror Michael’s image – but it will be a tough job.

I honestly thought I was waking up from a bad dream, I was hoping they were lying and that he was in a coma, still holding on to hope that he was still alive – but I have to come to grips with the fact that it is true, it will be a long time before the world gets over this – very sad day!

Rest in peace Michael, you will be missed but your music will live on!

A couple more that came late:

Ricky Braddy – Simply cannot believe Michael Jackson is no longer living. Thank God his music will live forever.

LaKisha Jones – my prayers and sympathy go out to the entire Jackson family. We have lost a true ledgend! God bless

It’s great to see that so far, nearly 50 Idols have come out with their support! It is like a huge family in the industry and world!

Is it the same with Elvis that those getting paid want status quo and will let him kill himself slowly?

I think you may find this to be true of many that are famous, have health problems, and has money. When I heard the news that Elvis died at age 42, I had to pull my car in a gas station. I was just devastated. There was no 24 hour cable news networks or MTV back then, so his death was handled a bit differently.

The 20/20 special on Farrah Fawcett left me in tears; she was so brave.

Right now, I am watching/listening to BET. Michael’s music is a celebration of musical genius and talent. I cannot cry, but can appreciate what he has left pop culture and the music world. May God bless his children.

What a start to a Friday morning! i loved MJ and thought all the controversy surrounding him was superficial and just because of the fact he’s a celebrity, doesn’t mean he should be portrayed like a deranged person (just like britney spears). anyway, i bet the media will start sensationalising his glory days (and not so glory days) in the coming few day.

    sad for his family though!

Lyndsey Parker posted what we have been following all along on Yahoo! Music.

  • suebrody

    Sorry, Anastasia. ::doh::

I am such a 70s child, but I was talking with my sister (who is a few years younger than I am) about how much a part of the musical landscape MJ was for us. When I think of being a djay, I think of the day all of us watched the premiere of MTV and how MJ pretty much dominated it (along with Madonna and a few others) all thru the 80s. And Charlie’s Angels…man, that show was DA BOMB.

But yes, Elvis was the first person who came to mind. I only knew him at the end of his illustrious career, as he pummelled downwards toward his inevitable demise, but his music lives on. I remember MJ, however, from when I was a little girl and that is why this has packed such a punch for me.

I am sort of stunned by this right now.

Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m not a huge Michael Jackson fan, nor have I ever been, but I do recognize his stamp on pop music. I just happen to not like pop music, so am not in a shambles over the event that looked promising a year ago. Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m truly not shocked. All the signs have been there for quite a while. I guess Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m a bit shocked that the man couldnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t get the help he neededà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s oh so very obvious that heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s been needy for quite a while. Is it the same with Elvis that those getting paid want status quo and will let him kill himself slowly? Was there not one person who cared enough for the man to keep fighting for him? Did he allow anybody to care? Who knowsà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦I just know Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m really not shockedà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦

I agree with so much of what you wrote. MJ has looked terrible the last few pictures I saw of him. One he was in a wheelchair. He was also very thin. This reminds me of Anna Nicole Smith’s death. You can say you love someone all the time, but if you don’t get them help, this is the outcome.

I had 2 dear friends die last week. They are not famous so there are no big news stories. To me they are just as important as MJ.
Remember, this is not the end of the world.

RT @johncmayer I truly hope he is memorialized as the ’83 moonwalking, MTV owning, mesmerizing, unstoppable, invincible Michael Jackson.

This came from Kelly Clarkson’s twitter-I’m pretty sure.

  • cookcricket

^^^This was on the msnbc page showing celebrity twitters and it came from kelly_clarkson. Since I’m not a twitteree, I could be wrong.

  • JRB5776

    ^^

She’s re-tweeting what John Mayer had to say. That’s what the RT at the front means. It’s like saying, “Yeah! What he said!”.

  • gemzone

David Archuleta added this after his concert tonight…..

Ah, I can’t get over MJ. I know everyone’s talking about it but he deserves the respect. I hope people will appreciate what he’s done.

  • AC

Kelly Clarkson doesn’t have a twitter. It’s fake!

  • ozarka

Another tweet from Carly Smithson — Crazy night. I live about 6 blocks from Michael Jacksons star on Hollywood blvd. So many people filling the streets and playing his music

Jennifer Hudson — R.I.P michael jackson!

@ carroll – sorry to be passing condolences in a blog but i’m sorry to hear about the death of your friends. to you they would be more important than MJ.

  • ozarka

Kimberly Caldwell — His music will live in forever. He will never be forgotten. But it is still very surreal.

Chikezie — Remember where you were today… for the generations that will never experience what we have through this man…
Imagine… this man could have taken any # of professions in life, but God, thru circumstances put him in all our lives in the best way…

Blake Lewis — MJ’s music will live on through all of us! We are all blessed to have been and be apart of it.

Jordin Sparks — My heart hurts. :(

La Toya London — Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, and our beloved Michael Jackson. No more troubles in this world. May you rest peacefully.

    Another one overnight:

Lisa Leuschner (helleuw) – i will never get over this… a true tragedy.

  • poporange

Taylor Hicks tweeted–he did a moonwalk and a bow after his curtian call for Greese in onor on Micheal Jackson….

  • CFIdolsfan

Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m quite sure that his father never meant to do him any harm, but when you completely take away someoneà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s normal childhood, no matter how talented they are, well, some people just donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t respond to that well down the line. Lots of child stars are witness to that, and, really, MJà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s genius-level talents and the fact that he was sort of *leading* the group and was so heavily relied on as a very young child both had to put enormous pressure on him, making him grow up absurdly fast in some ways while other ways of maturing may have got hopelessly left behind and out of balance. To me, the whole à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“boyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ thing and the Wonderland thing were him caught in a childhood he never had and grasping after it in a crippled and sad way as an adult. Very sad for him and others. I hope that he came to some peace in himself in the last few years. His story has just always been so sad to me and such an ironic thing to be connected to the amazing gift of music and dance he gave us all.

I couldn’t agree more. My family and I were discussing this. My sister is a social worker, and I’m pretty sure she would agree with you as well. It makes me watch myself as a parent very carefully, too.

  • cjester27

Granted, he doesn’t have twitter or has said anything about this news, but…the obvious one might be coming in Denver, CO (and for 2 other stops in CO this weekend; Aspen tomorrow, followed by Beaver Creek on Sunday). That is…whether or not David Cook will be doing the Chris Cornell version of MJ’s Billie Jean that he did on Idol last year.

  • siren

    From Justin Guarini-
Thank you Michael for inspiring me, and the world.

I got into this business specifically because of MJ’s genius on that stage. I saw him and said to myself ‘I want to do THAT’.

Truly fell in love with music and performance. I met and hung out with MJ and his brothers…Jermaine later became a great family friend…

The very first concert I can remember was 1986′s “Victory Tour” ( I still have the jacket my parents bought me). It was then that I fell…

David Archuleta — Hello. In Boston now. Listening to MJ along with everyone else lol. Gettin’ my groove on with The Way You Make Me Feel right now.

Matt Giraud — Jackson 5 and Thriller is some of the best music I heard as a kid. I’ll never forget it. There’s a lot of MJ tribute parties tonight in LA
It was an honor to record Human Nature in the SAME studio he recorded it in. An amazing moment in my life.

Anoop Desai — dress rehearsal today. still shocked about mj…

Michael Sarver — Good morning everyone. I think I woke up expecting to find out yesterday was a dream. This is unreal.

Melinda Dolittle — Determined to celebrate the lives of the 3 icons we were so blessed to have in our lives.

Brandon Rogers — In 1983 the first video I saw was Thriller. In 1987 my first concert ever was MJ. In 1993 my choir sang with MJ at the Super Bowl.
I can plot the musical journey of my life to his career. I’m still having a difficult time wrapping my head around the fact that he is gone

Tamyra Gray — Aside from Lisa (Lefteye)Lopes’ passing,I’ve never been affected by a celebrity’s death. For some reason The clouds keep overflowing w/rain.
I appreciate the honorarium the radio stations in the bay are having I’m gonna dance the night away in celebration of the music he left.
And now it’sBen.Oh this night will never end. I’m destined to swim 2nite.I guess u never know how much someone’s effected u till their gone.

Leah Labelle — Up bout to go to the venue & I really just can’t believe I’m in Boise the day after MJ passed cuz I haven’t heard 1 person talk about him…
.. Except us & the band of course. But really? I feel like I need to walk down the street & hear his music. Evry store should b playing…
… His songs when I walk in!!! I wanna be in LA!!!!

Felicia Barton — writing today…still in shock about MJ…so what was your 1st experience with him…can’t forget watching Thriller on MTV for the 1st time!

LaKisha Jones — I am still in shock! Michael Jackson was apart of everyone’s family. Now I can only wonder what it would be like to see him in concert
When I was on idol I actually recorded in the studio where michael’s ( we are the world ) was recorded.
Cherish each moment like it’s your last!

  • itsalleternal

I’d guess close to 60 Idols have now posted their respects…that is the equivalent to 5 seasons worth of finalists, or enough to push a single season back to Hollywood week.

Lisa Tucker: Michael Jackson’s legacy will live on forever. I love you Michael. You will never know the impact you had on people’s lives, including mine.

Jordin Sparks: Still feeling a little weird today…its still setting in. Been listening to MJ all day. Isaiah 40:31. :)
