Rejected X Factor contestant, Don Phillip, who duetted with judge Brittany Spears on the ballad “I Will Still Love You” off her debut album, … Baby One More Time has leaked a Brittany demo on Soundcloud.
During his emotional San Francisco audition, Don tearfully revealed he was gay. Whether it was his emotional state, or nerves, Don didn’t sing well. Brittany, along with the rest of the judges, did not advance him to the next round. You can listen to audio from the audition at this link.
According to Digital Spy, the track was originally titled “Pleasure You” and is believed to be from a 2010 studio session and features vocals from Don Philip.
The “features vocals from Don Philip” is the part I don’t get. He hadn’t seen Britney since they duetted together in the late 90s. It’s unclear if Don’s vocals were part of the original recording, or added later.
After his ill-fated reunion with Britney, Don took to his Facebook to take a passive aggressive swipe at his former duet partner, “Back to real life… all my demons released… i totally crocked when the pressure was on… at least I didnt shave my head… my vocal chords tightened up like a snake around a mouse.”
