Randy Jackson Names His Favorite Idol Contenders (VIDEO)

Randy Jackson namechecks the American Idol contestants he thinks have a chance to win.  They would be Colton Dixon, Elise Testone, Jessica Sanchez, Phil Phillips and Joshua Ledet.

“It’s about who wants it all,” Randy tells ABC Now. Yes, that’s been his meme lately.  Also–please, says Randy, no more Adele!

Randy also talks about being a Type 2 diabetic and the supergroup he plans on taking on the road this fall.

    I look first and foremost for who holds my interest, who moves me, who makes me want to move, and who bores me. With that in mind, I really like Elise and Phillip. I am bored by Jessica (I know!!! She is a great vocalist! I get it! lol) and Skylar.

    I think what Jimmy really told us last night is that P2 and Colton are kicking everyone else’s butt in the vote totals.

    I understand wanting others to get in there- I love Elise, but it is almost a done deal is what it sounded like to me.

    I find Skylar much more entertaining than past country contestants on Idol, including Lauren. But it is all in a matter of opinion.

    Idk, I think Randy’s mentions were just who came to mind and not some big indication of what the show wants or how the votes are going. These judges are not the world’s quickest thinkers on their feet and sometimes oversights are just oversights.

    While I agree with you that Jackson was probably babbling because he often seems to be… surely in one’s 11th season of judging, it’s not rocket science to figure out that interviewers will ask “who are the front-runners” or “whom do you expect/want to see win” and have an answer prepared. It’s not like this is a new and startling question that has never occurred to an interviewer in past seasons.

    If Jackson is genuinely blindsided by such an obvious and predictable question, I want to know whom to call about selling media training services to Idol. Srsly. And $500 an hour is my starting rate, as it looks like uphill work.

    I hope my feelings hold true for tonight that Skylar will not be eliminated. Some people don’t like to admit it but right now country music is hot. It is hotter than it has ever been. Alot of votes will go to Skylar for that reason. Reguardless if she is eliminated I feel she will have a great career in country music.

    jessica has one 4 ballads and 3 uptempos (2 more if you count the duets). joshua, hollie, skylar, and friggin colton have done more ballads. in idoldom, robotic is so default for a young, usually female, singer who can sing the shite out of a song, but hammered for not “connecting” with the song or some other vague criticism. bring on all the coffee house singers and jam guitarists though. 

    and i would classify stuttering as an r&b slow jam ;)

    Skylar has a huge chance to win given her demographic. Randy is a moron and its apparent he forgot 2 Country kids were the Top 2 last year.

    It is all matter of opinion because I find her so annoying all that pluckyness gets to me.LOL  Her voice has potential if someone tells her she doesn’t have to scream the ending of every song. She’ll get signed i am pretty sure most people are in your camp and find her entertaining rather then annoying.

    P2 is too polarizing and Elise does not have the fanbase to even keep her out of the bottom 3 unless she gives a great performance… I personally love Hollie but there is no chance the judges will allow that… I think maybe Colton Josh or Jessica… with Colton having the best chance cause of his Y chromosome and cute boy status…. but should be Josh and Jess cause consistently the best

    my ideal t4 out of the people left would be Jessica/Joshua/Elise/Skylar.

    I would LOVE that top 4 but unfortunately I doubt it will happen.  I think one of P2
    /Colton will make Top 4 (at this point I don’t think both of them will). 

    I’m not mad at Randy for what he said.  All the “stick it to the man!” votes in the world aren’t going to help Hollie at this point IMO.  It MIGHT buy her an extra week, but she’s not long for this competition.  If Elise winds up in the B3 tonight I think her chances to go deeper in the competition are toast as well.

    I’m not quite ready to count out Skylar although the fact that we had Scotty and Lauren in the finale last season might hurt her chances a bit.  I’m not sure TPTB really want another country finalist in the Top 2 this season.  I agree with those who think the bus will be headed her way soon, but will she be able to dodge it?

    I think randy naming all but two of the contestants is a little bs. I hope all this over praising of the others fuels up skylars’ and hollies’ voting groups and keeps one of them up until the end. I would prefer skylar because she has personality, but anything to stick it to them. I really shouldn’t be that way. I keep forgetting that Jessica is the best singer in America!!

    i think hollie has a slight chance. she pulled herself out of the bottom 3 this week with (which i think) was a great performance. u know america loves to root for an underdog. i think elise and hollie were fighting for that. but with elise’s slight attitude this week and possibly already have peaked, i think that vote is going to hollie. plus, every time the judges brutally attacked hollie it riles her fans up.
