David Cook’s Official site hinted that they’d be debuting the video for David Cook’s single “Light On” first thing this morning.

Well, what we got is a 15 second preview. 15 seconds? Whoop-dee-do! Seriously, guys, throw your fans a bone. 15 seconds??? We’ve been punked! Anyway, here it is, after the jump.

The full video premiers tomorrow.

Video after the JUMP…

Those are the best 15 seconds ever :laugh_tb: Actually it says on DCO the full video premieres tomorrow.

Access Hollywood has had up since Friday a poll asking what feature people want to see on todays show and one of the choices is a preview for LO and it’s been winning so we might see something tonight.

  • dreamr

    Wow. 15 seconds. That’s so…sad. XD

DC still looks as hot as ever, however. Hotter, even.

  • Autumn

What a tease! It says the Whole video will Debut tomorrow morning. Not Funny at all! :furious_tb:

  • cheese

Pffft. I can’t watch the video at work anyway. I’ll just stare at the pretty screencap for 15 seconds and assume the effect is the same. Is it the beginning of the song?

  • Autumn

    That was just Foreplay………..

  • sma11ie

Hahaha, I TOTALLY feel punk’d! I guess we DC fans are like the stock market. It’s all about expectations and trends. I was perfectly excited about the 5-second soundless Walmart clip when I discovered it, because a) I wasn’t expecting it, and b) it’d been a while since we had any crumbs. So getting those 5-seconds exceeded our expectations. With this, however, fans were coming off the incredible high of 2 full song performances on SNL, not to mention the premiere of a brand new song. Our expectations were sky high, and the hint about showing us something related to the video was immediately interpreted as the full video. So while we would’ve been perfectly thrilled with such a 15 minute clip a week ago, it’s no longer enough.

  • kathrynTX

    He’s a big teaser
He took me half the way there…

OK maybe 1/10 of the way? DAVID COOK, you’re killing us. Geez, man, 15 seconds? ARGH. I watched it ONCE, I saw the live chat/vid from the set that one night, I’m not watching ANY more til the whole damn thing is available! Cause I can’t HANDLE IT! I NEED the whole video, please. In triplicate. Or something.

OK thank you for the lovely preview! Someone knows what she/he is doing with this marketing stuff like this. It’s never enough though, we always want more Cook. plsokthxluvubye. :wub_tb:

  • dreamr
Is it the beginning of the song?
No, it’s part of the chorus:

“Try to leave a light on when I’m gone. Even in the daylight shine on. And when it’s late at night, you can look inside. You won’t feel so al-…”

It seems to be near the end, because if I’m hearing correctly, he’s just coming off of the quiet part (the part where it’s just him and the piano) as the clip starts.

  • cookbunny

Question: they say it premieres tomorrow. Does that mean it will also be available on iTunes tomorrow, or just streaming on their site?

  • Michelle

LOL. Well, it’s something, and at least the whole thing comes out (which means what exactly?) tomorrow.

  • jpfan

Is it me or is this cheese city? They need to cut back on all that Cook emoting when they do the live shows. And the band = it’s too much and borderline silly. All that screaming about two kids riding a bike.

    15 seconds is cruel.

  • Incipit

And how quickly we forget that *cha*grin* at the brief taste, when there are suddenly clips from all the songs…and any minute now, that won’t be enough either.

It’s been a long, dry spell since Analog Heart…and David’s own songs.

We are a greedy bunch. (snerk) Which translates into lots of album sales.

All that screaming about two kids riding a bike.

The two kids on a bike is part of a larger story line. That’s not what the video is about. LOL.

David Cook’s video is about to premiere in the next 25 minutes or so on Access Hollywood.(or, that’s my understanding). There was a poll to vote to see his or Pink’s videos, and of course, he won.

So, hopefully we’ll see that entire thing in a few.

The WebNerds at DCO have posted an update; the whole “Light On” video is going up on the Home Page at Midnight.

Mind you , they haven’t said ‘which’ midnight, but East Coast Midnight was the gauge last time they used that phrase.

If Access Hollywood has an exclusive, I’m supposing it will have already been shown by ‘midnight’, whichever midnight it turns out to be.

And it looks like the new dedicated server will be able to deal…there were over 1500 registered users on this morning for the little Teaser Test…and no wobbling, no crashing.

Been a day full of Cookie Crumbs, and not even a Tuesdave!

  • http://www.myspace.com/gwendolyndiane GwendolynD

Ugh, apparently Access Hollywood’s sneak peek was exactly that – less than 10 seconds. Sorry….

  • ShariG

Well, midnight will be here soon. Does anyone know how soon we will be able to download it?

  • Scifisam

I saw the band and cold, angsty Cookie.

    I like it already.

  • KarenLE67

I guess I’m the first one to watch the video, no new topic yet from MJ. I’m toyally loving the footage of the band playing and Dave singing, the storyline and actor parts, not so much.

This seems to me like a more grown up song, about leaving you loved ones behind when you wish you didn’t have to, asking them to keep the homefires burning until you get back. I remember some posts speculating about service people, first responders, or even a touring musician and the like being the focus of the video, and I agree that would have suited the words better than this high school teenage crap in the video.

But frankly, for me, I’m a literate person and don’t really need song lyrics interpreted for me. I’d prefer all music videos to be just that – videos of the band, the singer, performing. That’s what I really crave more than anything – that up-close witnessing of the creative moment. So I love the band sections, they look lovely, and I’ll be going back to watch the SNL video clips a million more times.
