Joshua stood out for me from the start, but as time has gone by he has traveling down hill.  I get tired of all the high screaming notes and it comes off too much like he is in church.  The second thing for me personally is he comes off a little arrogant when the judges are drooling all over him with high praise comments.

Jessica I don’t care for at all on any level no matter what the song is.  She is another one that likes to scream and impress with the high notes and there is more to singing than all the high notes.  She also comes off arrogant to me.

P2 is very likeable and I really liked his song choices from last night, however, I am confused on what his genre is.  I just can’t figure out where he belongs in the music industry.

Hollie as far as voices goes would be my pick.  I love the tone of her voice and I think she has become the sacrifial lamb in this group.  I am just disappointed that the judges have been so hard on her at times.  They can’t wait to get rid of her and it comes thru loud and clear.

Sklar and Colton were my favorites and they are gone so it shouldn’t matter but I have since thrown my votes Hollie just because I can’t stand that the judges have been so critical of her and drooling all over Jessica and Joshua.

They all get conflicting advice from Jimmy and the judges.  That’s certainly not a problem unique to Hollie.

    In order:

    Joshua “It’s a Man’s World”
    Jessica “Steal Away”
Phillip “Volcano” (I never thought he would be one of my favs tonight)
    Jessica “And I’m telling you….”
    Hollie “Faithfully”
Hollie “I Can’t Make You Love Me” (I never thought this was so bad)
Phillip “Have You Seen The Rain?”/Joshua’s “You Raised Me Up” (I think I fell asleep during these performances)

P2 falls naturally somewhere in the alt rock/AAA continuum, where street cred involves writing one’s own songs with a distinct POV, while gorgeous vocals are a nifty tool rather than a career necessity. While I’m not on the P2 train, there is sense and consistency to P2 developing a fan base among people who are interested in a AAA or alt-blues-ish sound.

For Sanchez and Ledet, I tend to agree with tinawina that the vocal style is very R&B and is appropriate for R&B. Honestly, I enjoy Ledet more when he’s singing up-tempo songs (floved the Bruno Mars cover) and I could see him going a Mars-ish or maybe Ne Yo-ish direction. But heck, I like Sanchez and even Cavanagh better when they show their sassy sides, so I think we’ve identified my bias in dealing with big-voiced singers.

Phil Phil is most liked here when he sings a song (Volcano) without changing it from the original (even the staging was like the official Damien Rice video), yet he’s the “artist”? Interesting….and contradicting

I don’t usually enjoy Phillip’s voice, but his rendition of “Volcano” was just beautiful (to be honest, he had me at “Damien Rice”!). The original song is almost 10 years old, so it was cool to see it shoot to number 31 on itunes after this performance. Speaking of Damien Rice, I would love to see two contestants perform a duet of “9 crimes” I think it would be amazing.

I also loved Joshua’s “It’s a Man’s World”. This was one of my favorite Joshua performances.

Again, I think it will be Joshua going home, but more to the fact that his second line thanked people for voting for “Contestant #2″ ( Hollie) when it was used. It took me a second call to realize that. I could not get through to vote on his first line except for twice during my two hour window of opportunity.

So… I cried three times last night.

Volcano, This is a mans world, and I am telling you…

I am a huge P2 fan. If I were to buy music from any of the top 4, it would be his no doubt. That being said, I think Joshua and Jessica are obviously far superior when it comes to vocal ability.
If Hollie goes home tonight, which im guessing she will, I will have a hard time watching the next result show.
Also, if Hollie goes home tonight, this will be my favorite top 3 ever.

For most of Joshuas performances I like how he starts a song but cant stand when he screams at the end.I just wish he wouldn’t get so manic [which the judges overpraise constantly]
I actually liked Jessica’s last performance -for the first time I felt connected to what she was singing.
Phillip was good in his 2nd performance.
My favourite performance of the night was Hollies first song-I thought she did a great job & her tone was wonderful. I think her 2nd song suffered from being confused by Jimmy saying dont go OTT [why doesn't he say that to Joshua & Jessica?]
