VIDEO: Idol’s Pia Says She Had a “Gut Feeling” She Was Going Home

“The night before … it was the weirdest thing. I had a gut feeling and said to my parents, ‘I think I’m going to be in the bottom three tomorrow,'” Toscano tells TVGuide.com.

Jim Cantiello’s passion and enthusiasm for Idol is so infectious. Similar to Jimmy Fallon, you can’t deny his excitement for what he does. (Which often turns into hilarious fan-boy moments) He’s really hitting his stride as a Idol pundit, in my opinion.

Pia seems to have a pretty good idea of the contemporary producers she wants to work with. That should be a good thing for her if she gets to make an album. I wonder if she knows that Ryan Tedder says he’s over his ballads phase ;)

I wonder if she knows that Ryan Tedder says over his ballads phase

He said he was over “sweeping ballads”… he doesn’t seem to write too many uptempo songs, so that probably means he’s onto non-sweeping ballads, or mid-tempo ballads, like the two he cowrote on Adele’s album, or most of the One Republic songs.

Jim trying to get a scoop from Pia was almost unconfortable, I like him but that was a little too obvious.

This woman had quite the exciting few days. On Thursday, she was evicted from Idol in a torrent of tears and I imagine she didn’t sleep well that night. Friday, she had at least ten interviews and Jay Leno for an hour, where she was beginning to look a little worse for wear. Never too tired for a date, though, she dated and maybe “made out with” Mark Ballas Friday night – and the weekend was yet to begin! There is a date I woulda canceled.

This schedule is too unbelievable for me to believe, awready. We should all have machines like Idol PR go to work for us when unemployed.

I do. not. get. all this fawning over Pia. Meh.

It’s kind of like when he was trying to get Adam to say something negative about his own fans. Sometimes he is a weird interviewer which could get annoying.

I find it interesting that the producers say that Pia was never going to win. I suppose they would know that because it is up to them who wins. Do we have any proof that the phone calls really have anything to do with who the producers choose to win? I’m sorry if I sound cynical but the viewing public is manipulated up the gazoo with these supposed “reality” shows. But that’s nothing new with television.

If this Pia elimination thing keeps getting so inflated, it’s going to explode like the balloon it is. There’s more noise now than there is likely to be when — or if — her album comes out.

  • poohbear

She is so beautiful. I would love to see those old films of her when she was 4 holding a microphone and singing. What a lovely girl! Thanks to MJ for the videos!

The backstage interview thing at Regis was funny. Kelly kept trying to get her to say that Stefano was in love with her.
She asked Pia if she had to date one of the guys who would it be…she said none of them because they’re her brothers, but that Paul’s really funny and Stefano is great too.

poohbear, I think if Idol really manipulated the voting, then:
    Taylor Hicks would not have won Season 5; Daughtry would have;
Melinda Doolittle would have won Season 6 instead of Jordin Sparks; and
Adam Lambert would have won Season 8 instead of Kris Allen!

I am a fan of all 3 winners, by the way, but I would have loved to see Melinda Doolittle win Season 6. She was my favorite in Season 6 (and Simon’s too).

  • movin2thabeet

I’m sure she wants to keep all this buzz going until she can build her own future projects. For me, after watching a couple of these videos, I’m left with the same impression as watching her on the show – she’s a pretty face/body with a pretty voice, but not alot of depth, urgency or excitement there. She rowed through these things, revealing next to nothing, with her pageant smile. This is why she was voted off in the first place. Her one-dimensionality is boring. Pretty will only take her so far.

Seriously people…WTF do these “journalists”…ask the SAME questions?!?!?! Hell, all of us would respond ot the same dumbass questions with the same forced smile and tired answers…

Good interviews. She handled them well. Pia is a talented girl who deserve good things and doors will open for her.

Yeah, that backstage interview from Regis & Kelly show is amusing. Kelly kept trying to make some romance about Pia and Stefano. And she said he’s like a brother and a good friend. But Kelly likes them as a couple. I think Kelly must find Stefano attractive too cause he’s got that Latin look like her husband. They are just close supportive friends. Both Pia and Stefano are my favorites, so its good to know they are close like that
