I was hoping he would play something else off his album. Another very good version of “Home,” though.

There is just something about Phillip live singing… and I can not put my finger on it, but there is something about Phillip singing that just makes me feel good.

Anyway, I was clapping in front of my computer along with audience.
    Go Phillip!

I agree with Sherry.  Phillip has a great speaking voice.  He also is much more composed and confident in this interview than his interview with Kelly and Michael back in September.

By the way, Rolling Stone has posted an interview with Phillip about the new album.

Not only a fine singer, but a very attractive guy as well.  Looking forward to his career.

I agree.  When Phillip sings, his voice wraps around me like a warm blanket.  I can’t describe the feeling any better than that.

Home really is a good song. I like this version as much as the studio. (also curious if Phillip is still musically ambivalent about it)

Ubiquitous is right…..On my way to a parent-teachers meeting, I heard Home on the radio. During the meeting, one of the directors made a slideshow using Home as a backdrop. However, there is such a thing as too much of a good thing with a song for me. I fear I will tire of hearing it very soon.

He did great. And someone got him into a jacket. Looked like the one he wore last night at the AMAs. :)

Thanks for posting the RS article…really great.

    You’re very welcome.  :)

    Wow! Terrific interview.

  • IrisandLilies

I think the jacket Phillip is wearing on The View is the same jacket he wore on AI when he sang “Volcano.”  If I remember correctly, the AI stylist described it as a “singer-songwriter” style jacket.

I believe the jacket that Phillip wore last night at the AMAs may have been the black jacket he wore at the end on finale night.  If not that jacket, it was probably the jacket to the new suit he wore to the Glamour Awards last week.

I think I know way too much about Phillip’s sartorial choices.

Oh my…What is up with the rotating background? It’s making me feel sea sick.

FYI: I live in the middle east and heard “Home” on a commercial for one of the satellite channels here.  So I guess that makes it officially an “international hit”.

Great interview and performance!  I can see that he has become much more comfortable and confident with his recent interviews.

  • durbesque

He will feel liberated when he can sing other songs from the album.  I’m looking forward to it.  But this is not the time to jump the Home ship.  Stick with the song that got you here!

lol..and the cornfield is so cheesy.
