Pentatonix Cover “Say Something” With Kevin Olusola on Cello (VIDEO)

The latest cover from The Sing-off 3 winners, Pentatonix is a sweeping rendition of “Say Something” by A Great Big World.

Besides their quintets amazing vocals, we are also treated to beat boxer, Kevin Olusola, accompanying the group on cello. Yeah, not exactly a’cappella, but we’ll let that slide, right?

Pentatonix are currently on a nationwide tour. Check their website for dates.

I really enjoy Pentatonix and the amazing things they do with their voices. Would love to see a live performance.

Oh, how I love them. And I think I love Avi’s voice most of all. Now if only they’d maybe not sell out their shows *quite* so fast so I could go see them live…

  • Larc

Fantastic! The cello is almost like an added voice.

  • BluSky

Lovely, but I liked Alex & Sierra’s cover better. It felt more emotional and pure

Beautiful!! I see them this Saturday!! Wow, Scott has really gone platinum!

  • fuzzywuzzy

    I agree. I love Avi’s voice.

  • Sweetheart

They’ve performed this live on every stop of their current tour. There are a bunch of videos on YouTube since the tour is sold out.

  • shenanigan

Wow, I am so going to try to see them soon. The music is so beautiful!

  • Face

they always do a great job of interpreting a song… putting their own little twist on it… without losing what makes it a great song in the 1st place…

  • Holden17C

    Wow! Just wow!

  • Incipit

Love this group – undeniable talent. I thought I was tired of this song.

  • Jim Benson

    They are so freakin good.

  • efish

fuck… that was beautiful… it actually gave me les frissons! these people are crazy talented. thank dog for the sing off… few would have heard them otherwise.

  • Larc

Good luck finding an available ticket. They probably didn’t anticipate the reception they are getting, so didn’t book large enough venues for their tour.

  • Christopher Auyeung

Just saw them for the second time in Oakland – a must see. Seriously my favorite concert to attend. The tickets usually don’t sell out for a month or two after being listed, so make sure to keep track of when they’re going on sale next year!

  • overthetop1

    That was incredible.

Every tour date in the US is sold out.

  • standtotheright

Thanks for pointing me that way. This performance was shot from the balcony, so the visuals aren’t that great, but (more importantly to me) it means that there is very little distortion in the sound.

    Very well done.

Loving this song, one of the best I have heard them do.
I wish now I had purchased tickets to the San Diego show, but I was on the fence about seeing them. Maybe next time!

They’re playing a 3,000 seat theatre in my hometown, and it sold out in 24 hours. This acappella group has gone supernova.
