Pentatonix Cover Maroon 5′s “Payphone” (VIDEO)

I hate comparing covers to the original, but in this case I can honestly say I prefer the Pentatonix version of the Maroon 5 hit “Payphone.” Mitch gets the lead here–his falsetto at once angelic and soulful. Scott gets his moment too and it’s FABULOUS. Loves this.

The quintet, winners of the 2nd and final season of The Sing Off, remind y’all to check out their tour. Many of the dates are SOLD OUT (including mine in Boston. BOO). I’d love to see them live. Alas. Maybe next time.

    Love it! They are fantastic and this makes me angry all over again that The Singoff wasn’t renewed. Heads and shoulders above all the other singing/talent shows.

    I agree with “Wow!”  I have seen them perform in LA twice and they are pure joy on stage.

    Do they only do covers or are they putting out originals – even if just a single orEP?  Maybe they did already since I remember hearing something about an album but guess it didnt go

    MaxStone, their EP was a mix of covers and a couple originals. Good stuff. 

    I can’t wait to see them in… December? I think I get them in December. They are fabulous.

    I wonder if there were groups that had thought of trying out for the The Sing Off?  Then I wonder if they ended up trying out for The X-Factor of AGT? 

    Pentatonix is a fanatstic group – love their covers.

    Their EP was released and it was on Itunes top 5 for a week or two(I think). There are 2 original songs ‘The Baddest Girl’ and ‘Show You How to Love’.
