Take a look at Paul McDonald and Nikki Reed on their wedding day, via US Magazine. The Season 10 American Idol alum and Twilight star got married on Sunday.

On her Tacori gown with a 72-inch train, Nikki tells US, “It was so feminine.”   The couple wanted the ceremony to feel “like an outdoor music festival.

Among the 130 guests at the wedding were Reed’s best friend and her man of honor DJ Qualls and actress Nia Vardalos.

Wow. That really is a spectacular dress.

She looks really pretty, but can I just say how sick I am of all these strapless dresses? Up until a couple of years ago I worked for a wedding planner and even then thats ALL these brides wanted, even the ones who didnt have the figure for it. That’s why I love how Kate Middleton went for something so different. I want to see the back of Nikki’s dress and her dozens of diamonds heh.

Maybe Paul didn’t win Idol, but it looks like he is still a winner. Hope we get to see more pictures.

Ohhh man- I nearly spit out my drink….DJ Qualls was her man of honor? The dude from Road Trip? That is one of the most random pieces of information I’ve ever read on MJs. Now I’m so curious of his connection to Nikki.

I’m a fan of the strapless wedding dresses-they look good on most brides. Nikki’s dress is gorgeous! Her hair looks beautiful, and Paul looks like he can’t believe his luck :)

Awe, they look sooooo sweet and happy together…. :)

  • abbysee

Wow, they make me smile, they look blissfully happy. The dress is divine! Elegant!

Omg! I could not agree more! I wondered if I was the only one who felt this way. I get so sick and tired of seeing strapless at every wedding I attend or see on TV. It’s annoying! Time to get original folks! Plus if it’s a church wedding (not sure if theirs was), I think it’s completely inappropriate.

As someone who does church weddings, can I say how glad I will be when this fashion ends? I see way too much cleavage on the brides and their attendants, and sometimes it’s much better to leave some things to their imagination. Just sayin.

Congrats to Paul & Nikki! Paul won something more important than a record contract. Plus the camera loves his face & catches his vibe – maybe he can segue into tv or movies or even hosting, due to this connection.

ITA re strapless gowns being the only option, Princess Kate’s dress being a breath of fresh air, and I’d add Ivanka Trump’s dress also. I was part of a team that hosted Randy Fenoli of “Say Yes to the Dress” (a reality show about brides choosing gowns, based out of Kleinfeld NYC) for a fundraiser last year, and I asked him why they only show strapless gowns. He said he thinks they are in vogue because they are easier to dance with during the wedding reception – no awkward sleeve lifts or cutting in the underarms when you raise your arms while dancing. Plus he said brides want to feel a little bit sexy without going OTT.

Still can’t see what that dress looks like. Need a bigger picture. And I know Paul has those extremely tight pants on.

LOL Dj Qualls is the dude from ‘The New Guy’.

  • Dlynne

They make a stunning couple. I love the dress. She is gorgeous.

Aww, They look so happy :D

Wow. They look happy. So nice to see. :)

Beautiful couple. Paul is a winner :). I hope more there is more photos. Love the wedding dress.

Paul is such a douche. I went to Auburn with him and hung out with him several times. The only reason he married her was for fame. Anyone that knows him can see that.

Agreed. My dad commented on my little bit of cleavage when my dress was being made, and I had my aunt, who was making it, make it with less of a plunging neckline. I think “showing too much” makes it look like you want all men to gawk at you, instead of having your husband to be the only one to have that privilege.

In response to previous comment and in defense of Paul.  I also went to Auburn and was in the same fraternity with him.  Paul was one of the favorites amongst us all and he is very much a sincere, true and honest person.  All the happiness for you Paul and Nikki, and please ignore ignorant comments like this one (if you haven’t already).
