Paul McDonald and Nikki Reed Marry In Malibu

US Weekly reports that Season 10 alum Paul McDonald and Twilight star Nikki Reed married at a private ranch in front of 100 guests at Malibu, CA today.

“We couldn’t be happier!” the 23-year-old Twilight star and former American Idol season 10 contestant, 27, tell Us. “[We were] surrounded by our family and friends. We’re so glad this day has come!”

Paul met Nikki back in March during an American Idol excursion to the Red Riding Hood premiere in Hollywood. At the time, the focus was on the star of the movie, Amanda Seyfried, who dropped by the March 10 Top 13 Idol results show to promote her movie.

But in hindsight, Nikki was the actress we need to keep an eye on. You can see the couple meet cute at the premiere in this video clip that aired on the show. “Is she a famous actress or something?…I could hang out with her!” declared Paul after a hug from Nikki. Indeed! History was made.

Big congratulations to both of them!

UPDATE: Paul tweets, “Yesterday was the most amazing day of my life..everything was perfect. I’m officially a MARRIED MAN! Woohoo!”  Nikki tweets, “Yesterday was the most magical day of my life…”

    So normally I put the C in cynic, but I kind of want to believe these two will make it. For one thing, Paul seems very genuine. And a movie actress happy to fly coach to Manila with her man? That is love.

    I doubted at first whether this relationship would work out. But now I sincerely hope these two will be happy. They all seem genuine.

    This story is amazing how they saw each other at a premiere. Talk about stars having to align for them to meet. I can’t believe that they didn’t fizzle out and that everyone was serious one Nikki in her comments of gushing over Paul and Paul in his response his apparent joy at hearing them. I thought everyone involved was just being nice.

    Hope they work out for the long haul.
