Paris Bennett Update: Will Appear in Rent in Minneapolis, New Album in the Works

I think she’s super talented too and maybe in another year she would have gone farther, but season 5 was full of talented people. I remember Taylor saying that in Hollywood week he thought Paris was the one other contestants had to watch out for as she was so talented. Comes from a singing family and it must be in the genes. Hope talent wins out.

She was my fave season 5. Still think her audition was stunning, and I agree that she has a special talent. I do hope she eventually finds her niche as an entertainer.

Awww, Paris! I agree she was enormously talented but I felt like she just hadn’t figured out what to do with it yet… she was still trying to be Beyonce when her voice and vibe said otherwise. When it all clicks one day watch out!

Her grandma is nominated for a Grammy this year.

I hope she does great in Rent, but I also think that musical theater is not her identity either. She’s a jazz standards singer.

I agree with the first paragraph. It was a tough season for Paris to be on–because of the depth of talent as others have said, but also because the show was moving from a forum for outstanding singers to a search for musician/singers.

The second paragraph–I don’t know what I think of that. On one hand, I think unplanned pregnancies in teenagers generally truncates the options that teen has in life, but Fantasia was a 19 yo Mom and she did okay w/family help. The pregnancy and birth definitely took Paris out of the music game for a while there tho.

But the image thing–irrelevant in the music industry. the public will buy music by bad moms (britney spears), felons, guys who punch their girlfriend, etc. Having a baby w/o being married is no tarnish to her image–she’s not auditioning to be a nun.

She’s a cutie. She has a Miley Cyrus smile…. super cute.

Paris is one of those talents that come along only once in a great while. I loved her on the show and wish her the best of luck in her career.

I liked Paris at the beginning, and I thought her audition was fabulous. But, as the season wore on, I found her a little bratty and annoying. I officially jumped off the Paris train when I went to see the Season 5 tour. For me, she was the worst performer of the night. More concerned with her booty shaking than her actual singing. I was not at all impressed with her live, which kind of surprised me.

She does have a gift though. So, I agree that if she could figure out the right way to showcase her talent, she could find some success. Honestly, up to this point, I just really think she’s been a little too immature to make the right musical choices.

Paris was one of my favorites Season 5 – just another case of a contestant who struggled to know their identity. Too bad, because she definitely had an interesting style and vibe! But I’m glad she’s at least keeping busy and happy with what she is doing. I still think she had one of the best auditions ever.
