Oscars 2013 – Adele Performs “Skyfall” – VIDEO

Watch Adele shimmer and shine as she performs a gorgeous rendition of “Skyfall” from the James Bond movie of the same name. The tune is up for Best Song (And it won!). I’ll be adding other song performances from the evening, so watch for updates.

She looked beautiful tonight. Loved both dress and make up.  I thought her voice faded in couple of places like mixing issue, but was it my imagination?

Regardless, I enjoyed the performance a lot.  LOL on her excited acceptance non-speech speech, too.  I love this girl.

Adele is always flawless. Plus she has one of the most gorgeous faces I have ever seen on a woman.

Is it me or is her voice just not recovered yet? It used to be throatier and fuller sound. A couple of my friends thought it was a sound mixing thing too but it was like that during the Grammys for Rolling in the Deep too so I dunno.

I think the track was off, but you could be right too. I hope she doesn’t ever become one of those sad stories of people that lose the power in their voice from overdoing it.. not only in general, but fairly early in her career and at a young age. :/

What is more stunning, her face or her voice? Just stunning. Adele’s voice is not 100% nor I think it will ever be. But even less than 100% she is just superb. I am a little confused in why she did not get a standing ovation, but Jennifer Hudson screaming did? Anyways, I am glad I am alive to see a talent such as Adele. Love her personality too. Too cute.

I don’t think that it was your imagination, as I thought that there was a mixing problem too.

Billboard also thought that there were sound mixing issues, and blamed it on the orchestra not being on site:

Bassey’s “Goldfinger” was the highlight of a Bond tribute that included the 007 theme and Paul McCartney’s “Live and Let Die.” Her performance  grew in intensity and power bar by bar, putting an exclamation point on a tepid performance by the orchestra that was bizarrely housed a few blocks away at the Capitol Records tower. Not only did it make no logical sense, there were sound mix issues throughout the night.

Skyfall is okay song, it just pales into comparison to some of the past Bond songs. I think the audience was hearing what I was hearing, it’s pretty, but so what. Nothing great, nothing spectacular, certainly nothing to jump to your feet about.

Music was definitely overpowering her vocals.  She is a beautiful woman, gorgeous mouth.  Makeup was gorgous and her hair also.

^^ Me too.  I thought the TED song was much much better and sweeter a song….but it was time for James Bond to win an award.

^^ Beauty is in the beholder. I think she looks average.

I’m still utterly dumbfounded that none of the Hunger Games songs were nominated. Sure, it was a big action picture, but so was Skyfall. I thought T-Bone Burnett had more goodwill in Hollywood than that. Skyfall is fine but unexceptional.

As I’ve said elsewhere, Adele did as well as she could considering the sound issues plaguing the night.

    Competent, but not particularly exciting.

I think Adele did a nice job and I see a bright future for her continuing.
