One More Show…

So, the Idols are in Providence, a one hour drive from where I live.   How can I resist?   Especially since I was able to snag another awesome seat this morning on ticketmaster! I rule!   I’ll just say that my seat is in a different part of the arena, so I should be able to capture some moments that I couldn’t before.

I usually take in the last show of the tour.   But Tulsa wasn’t in the cards for me this year.   So, Providence will be my Tulsa…   If you’re going to be at the show tonight, give me a shout out in comments.   I’m leaving shortly to try and make the buses (fighting with football (KC Chiefs home open, sorry Cookie, there’s gonna be an ass beatin’!) and Jimmy Buffet concert traffic should be fun. As in NOT. Gah Parrot Heads! Anyway.

I’m going to try something new today. I set myself up on Twitter, and you’ll notice a new tab along the header called Twitter!. I’m going to update my account with messages which you’ll be able to see on the twitter page. Messages like: “Waiting by the buses! I wish the Idols would get their asses out here!” That sort of thing. Heh. I have to warn you, I won’t be updating a lot during the show, because I’ll be doing other things, but I’ll make sure to update you all during intermission and after the show… You can sign up for Twitter yourself and read my updates here. I mapped a Starbucks to hang out in before the show, so you’ll be hearing more from me later…

    Hey MJ! I’m going tonight- (live ten minutes away- yipee!) Although I have been a die-hard since Season 1, this will be my first show. I really cannot wait! My husband and I will be to the left side of the stage. Can’t make it to the buses (don’t think my three-year-old would enjoy the wait.)

    Bax, if there’s another football game on today, our local stations don’t know about it. All I get to choose from this afternoon is Jacksonville or Tampa Bay. :annoyed_tb:

    Anyway, back on topic – I signed up for twitter so I can follow mj’s updates. Like I need another social networking thingy. But anything for MJ!! :)

    jan, lol. That slipped right past me when I saw it, but I couldn’t agree more. I can see the danger of Twitter. . .it becomes all too revealing. :)

    The parts about Cook on his scooter crack me up. There was a skate board somewhere else, and he won a surfboard at the Teen thing, and now we have a scooter. What next–a pogo stick?

    first encounter with twitter and I love it. Sorry that DC didn’t come out. Maybe you should teach the idols how to use twitter so fans don’t have to sit out there all day when they aren’t going to come out!

    Just a question… why would you need to register for twitter? I’m not, and I saw mj’s report just fine.

    I’m betting that today was a DC press day. They seem to alternate days for that….

    I’ve seen other twitters before, and MJ certainly seems to be better at it than a lot of the others who use it. The ability to report/snark in short bursts is not a universal skill, apparently.

    I have the same question as Jolene. Though I’m guessing that, if you register on Twitter, you’re able to also talk to MJ and the others who are registered can see your comments. Is that it?

    I know nothing about Twitter…. But I’m enjoying reading MJ’s comments.

    It’s all a matter of if you want to be able to read the comments through your cell phone and / or talk to others in a like fashion.

    I have a friend recuperating in the hospital from surgery and this is the easiest (and only) way she can update us how she’s doing at the moment barring calling her on the phone.
