Do you know how to check iTunes download statistics?

They’ve only been on sale for a week, so we can’t get any concrete statistics (and they may not be released at all and even if they are released, they may not be reported by anybody who has access to them).

You can see how they are doing relative to each other by entering “American Idol Performance” (or is it Performances?) in the iTunes search window. All of the S7 Idols will appear (plus a few random people). Sort by popularity and you can see who is selling best based on the relative sizes of their popularity bars.

If you just type “American Idol” you can also see songs by other AI artists (I just learned this last trick today on the other thread)

Here is the Quick Cut Info for “My Funny Valentine”. It has been played on the radio, but not for at least the last couple of weeks. Sorry.

Why do some country have just one song listed while Phil has two ? Does country music have a diferent standard?

Country is quick to send things to the recurrent chart. For instance, Carrie’s “So Small” still has an audience impression of 10.68 million and 1941 spins on country stations, but it is on recurrent. Kellie actually has three songs on the radio.

If a song charts and then drops below a certain threshold, it will go to recurrents. If the song never charts, it can show up for much longer because no matter how low it goes, it won’t go to recurrents until it is two years old.

Phil has two songs because he has another on the Christian AC chart (CAC).

How can you find the numbers for all the season 7 contestants?

Those were the only Season 7 contestants I could find that were played on the published Hot AC, AC or Pop. It is possible that they were played on other formats, but with 24 contestants, it would have taken a lot of time to check all 13 formats. Sorry.

You can also check the Quick Cut info for an artist. That will give you a summary of all the formats that the artist was played on (but just the spin count, not the placement).

Go to this page. Select the “Artist” radio button and enter the name of the Idol. Hit “Go” and it will give you a list of songs that have been played on the radio by that artist. There is a field on the right called “Option” which is default set to 7-day, set that to “Quick Cut Data” (the only option that is free to the public) and hit “Go” again. Hit “Go” again on the next page and you will get a summary that looks like this: Colton Berry: Suspicious Minds (note he also got a spin on Country).

If people find other Season 7 artists that were spun, feel free to post them here. For instance, I just checked David Cook and he received a spin on Country. He’s 373 on the Monitored Country chart (does not appear on the published chart)
