Olivia auditioned for America’s Got Talent in 2013, where she performed for the celebrity judges As “Long As You Love Me,” by Justin Bieber. While the judges advanced her to the next round, Mel B cautioned Olivia to be careful with building momentum and peaking too soon in the performance. Olivia was cut in the Las Vegas round before getting a chance to perform again. Afterwards, talking to Nick Cannon, the celebrity host reassured Olivia, saying he was sure that “I’ll see you in the future.”

Over this past summer, Olivia auditioned for American Idol. Advancing past all of the preliminary segments, Olivia gave a strong enough audition at the celebrity judges round to be advanced to Hollywood Week. Overall Thoughts: Olivia is a wildcard in my opinion; I can’t quite decide whether she is a top 24 cut or a top 12 lock. I was underwhelmed by her America’s Got Talent audition, but that was 2 years ago and her Youtube stuff since then shows incredible growth! I have to wait until I see how the show will portray her to give a definite opinion, but right now Olivia is just a great big question mark. I wasn’t a fan to begin with, but now Olivia definitely has my attention. What I am most excited for with Olivia is seeing if the talent and growth she has shown on her Youtube channel will be reflective of what we see when she is performing on Idol. Right now Olivia is young, fresh and has a great voice and talent, so my only advice is to keep her song choices relevant and appealing. I have my fingers crossed for her.

Song Suggestions:

  1. Wild Horses, by The Rolling Stones- My personal favorite pick for Olivia.
  2. A Thousand Years, by Christina Perri
  3. Chasing Pavements, by Adele
