On February 20, American Idol alum, Didi Benami tweeted this:

Hmmm…
The description from On Camera audiences:
From American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance producer Nigel Lythgoe comes the LIVE PREMIERE of CBS’s first and only mega singing competition! Be the first to see it live and join celebrity judges LeAnn Rimes and Ne-Yo with host Jason Kennedy in the studio audience. Unlike other competitions, the winner is decided solely by the studio audience! The Spotlight features 12 of the most talented singers in the country competing face to face on the same stage. Each contestant will sing part of a song and it will be up to you to judge who moves on as each round, one contestant is eliminated… by you!
The original report stated The Spotlight received a pilot order from CBS, which is what I suspect is going on here. It will be determined later whether the series actually gets a season pickup. Stay tuned!
