Nicole Scherzinger Named as X Factor UK Judge

Here’s some surprising news. ITV is reporting that Nicole Scherzinger will join the judges’ panel for the next series of X Factor UK.

This is pretty interesting news considering she was fired from the X Factor US panel. Flat out, she was a pretty terrible judge, prone to meltdowns and with nothing interesting to say about any of the acts. Maybe the chemistry of the UK panel will allow her talents to emerge in some way? I don’t know. She was pretty awful on the two seasons she spent as judge The Sing Off too.

The singer will join Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Tulisa Contostavlos on the talent show in a reported £750,000 deal.

    She should have never been a US judge to begin with. No one knows her for her music here, outside of Pussy Cat Dolls. At least in the UK, she’s had a few hits.
     
    I was hoping for Anastacia as a judge myself, though.

    i’m fine as long as the age limit in the UK is not 13.

     Nope. They lowered it to 14 one year and then the 14 year old girl who made the top 12 that year turned out to have a “happy slap” video of her beating up some girl.
     
    She was disqualified and they raised the age back up.

    Nicole is almost like a used rag. Being tossed around first as a guest judge on UK, then to the US, then back to the UK. If anything they should have hired Paula for the UK one since she was way better than Nicole and a good mentor (though  she may be boring without Simon).

    Anyone else notice how everything gets recycled between US and UK XF?

    I feel sorry for the UK fans and contestants for that matter but as long as she doesn’t show up on my tv here in the US anytime soon, I’m happy. Of course, it might be amusing to watch X Factor UK online just for the cat fights. Like someone else said, Tulisa is going to chew her up and spit her out.

    I wish they’d stop trying to make Nicole happen. I really don’t understand outside of Pussycat Dolls, no one is actually checking for her. She’s put multiple singles and no one cared, no one cared for her on x factor, seriously no one is really interested in her, you think they would take the hint.

     I meant more so with the arrangements. Like with Cher and Simone’s they both did the Professor Green rap version. Simone and Katie had the same slow-paced version as well. Walking On Sunshine even had the same lyrical changes (You are my sunshine but you gotta go).

     Honestly, they probably hired Nicole because they couldn’t find anyone else who has expertise on the show. I mean, Dannii and Cheryl were asked to come back and they didn’t. They could use the guest judges like Rita Ora but it might be hard to try to hire them since they may not be familiar with the concept. I guess they were stuck with Nicole since she’s a “veteran”.

    And what happened with Kelly? I thought she was a good judge except for the fact that she eliminated Amelia Lily over Sophie Habibis during week 1 (and Amelia was brought back and made it to 3rd – in your face Kelly!)

    Mel B and Anasctasia were both in the running. But EXTREMELY qualified.
     
    Mel B is a judge on the Aussie version and last year was my favorite judge out of all of the versions I watched. She lets her bitch flag fly and doesn’t care who knows it. :)

    It’s not so much about the list of cleared songs as it is all those US contestants were mentored by Simon who is apparently incapable of coming up with an original arrangement, and therefore carbon copies “moments” from the UK show, trying to make it happen again here. He did the same thing in UK, carbon copying David Cook’s Billie Jean, Archuleta’s Imagine, Jason Castro’s Hallelujah.

    Pretty lame decision for X-Factor UK. Nicole proved herself to be a useless judge with a wallpaper kind of personality lol. She can’t even make a decision to vote someone out!

    And yes Mel B(itch) lol is a perfect judge on X-Factor Australia. She can actually come up with a good critique at times.

    Also, Nicole has been dating Louis Hamilton(British F1 driver) for ever. I think she will do well in the UK. I liked her when she guest judged on the UK version a couple of years ago. She seemed alot more comfortable.
