Nicki Minaj: “Mariah Met Her Match” on American Idol (VIDEO) (FULL EPISODE)

The Nicki Minaj 3 part reality show, Nicki Minaj: My Truth, debuted on the E! channel Sunday night, and in this clip from an upcoming show, the American Idol judge weighs in on her feud with fellow judge and diva, Mariah Carey.

“I think that Mariah met her match this time,” Nicki says as she lounges on a private jet, “And I don’t think she was expecting to meet her match.”

Doesn’t sound very conciliatory to me. Oh boy.

ETA: Posted full video. Watch Nicki freak out before her first day on the Idol set. She seems very insecure.

I just have to say if this “fake” or real feud nonsense continues to January when they start the show, then Idol would be no better than X factor in terms of watching an enjoyable, wholesome singing competition tv show.

Sad though for me…as i really enjoy watching these 2 shows more than The Voice. But it seems like none of these 2 shows are working their shit out. The feud between Mariah and Nikki seems like something between 2 high school rivals and doesn’t look like a “real” reconciliation is at head, which leaves a bad taste in your mouth when you watch the show. While X factor is just a plain trainwreck. Sigh.

Nobody from idol has said anything about the feud for at least a month or more, and the media stopped covering it a few weeks backs, so it would seem that it has been resolved.

Saw this at another site and laughed at the final statement line:

Yes, that really is Nicki Minaj in her latest video comparing herself to Jesus. “They’ll never thank me for opening doors / But they ain’t even thank Jesus when he died on the cross.” I really thought I had seen and heard it all, but comparing yourself to Jesus? Wow. Nicki thinks really highly of herself doesn’t she? If she is Jesus, and she is seated at the right hand of Mariah Carey on Idol, then, yep, Mariah Carey is God.

Just made me laugh at the ridiculousness of it all. It (the judges in all incarnations) really has overwhelmed the talent they are supposedly trying to launch. AI has found some really great singers, some all around talent, some decent enough for being in the business personalities; they need to get back to focusing on that. Can we enjoy some judge drama and input? Some stroking of their egos a bit? Sure; but it has gone way beyond that and makes me for one not want to even bother and instead stick with performance videos and other means to follow someone who ends up before the public and perhaps find a performer I’d like to hear/see more of.

That’s one reason MJ’s place is so appreciated by me…I get to cut most of the crap and yet follow somewhat. Thanks.

Oh, geez. What is this, cage wrestling? Ick.

  • Whatiswrongwithus

Until now…. lol. I really hope Mariah and Nikki get their act together fast.

  • fuzzywuzzy

I wonder if Mariah and Nicki joined forces and had a little “chat” with Nigel. lol

  • md

The thing I noticed after “Building An Empire” was her big butt.

Nigel and the producers of AI have hit a new low

  • OffLeash

Ugh! Is Idol planning on becoming the Spring edition of the XFactor?

  • blackberryharvest

Why? This isn’t even an idol sponsored program that Nicki is on, so its not like this is a reality show that Nigel has made. The idol producers or Nigel have nothing to do with this show.

  • blackberryharvest

This was really a one time thing that is just getting dragged out by the media. From the previews I saw, it looks like they will keep the focus on the contestants-something that idol does best at out of the three shows.

  • blackberryharvest

    She seems very insecure.

I think I would be too if people trash talked me 24/7 and declared that the show jumped the shark and is “over” by hiring me.

She makes me respect The kardashians and…everyone else.

  • Axxxel

I can’t see the video… Just hoping one day that I will see Nicky M and Mariah C fightning over a contestant… and over the contestant’s talent only…

For how much complaining there is about how she is depicted, she doesn’t do a whole lot to make you change your mind. Perception basically winds up being reality most of the time, when she doesn’t want to be considered a diva, b-tch, etc. but then gets so angry and overtly-competitive about every little thing.

I saw some of this show when it was on TV and she is very sweet to her fans, but I had to think again about that and realize that a lot of it is because they’re in awe of her and not going to criticize her in any way.

Otherwise, anything but total adoration equals ‘hating’ on her, being jealous of her, disrespecting her, etc. And you look straight to the source to find where her fans pick it up from; it’s from her. There is a very unpleasant tone about it all, IMO. Not afraid to say so either as it will be very present when Idol begins, haha.
