The team behind The Sound Of Music – Live! continue to dole out teasers for the upcoming NBC live broadcast on 12/5, with 2 new audio clips from the cast album released today. UPDATE: Now with 2 more clips!
First, check out Carrie Underwood getting her yodel on with Ariane Rinehart (Liesl), Michael Nigro (Friedrich), Ella Watts-Gorman (Louisa), Joe West (Kurt), Sophia Anne Caruso (Brigitta), Grace Rundhaug (Marta), and Peyton Ella (Gretl) on “The Lonely Goatherd.” Not surprisingly, our country superstar Carrie sounds very comfortable yodeling. We hear more of her head voice here than we have on other clips, especially on some lovely harmonies with the kids after the crescendo portion of the tune.

Next, check out Stephen Moyer (who plays Captain von Trapp), Laura Benanti (the Baroness), and Christian Borle (Max) teaming for one of the songs original to The Sound Of Music stage musical that is not in The Sound Of Music movie, “No Way To Stop It.” It’s a humorous song in which Baroness Elsa and Max try to argue with Captain von Trapp over his unwillingness to cooperate as the Nazis take over Austria as part of the Anschluss, and there is personality to spare in the trio’s performance.

Promotion for December 5th’s broadcast of The Sound Of Music Live! is gearing up. Look for Carrie to appear on the Today Show on Monday, while NBC will broadcast an hourlong behind the scenes special “The Making of The Sound Of Music – Live!” on Wednesday, 11/27 at 8 PM. Carrie & The Sound Of Music – Live! cast will make a special appearance in the 1st hour of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade (on NBC at 9 Eastern). Also look for Carrie to appear on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on 11/28 (Thursday into Friday). The cast album for The Sound Of Music – Live will be released via Sony Masterworks on 12/3 and the Sound Of Music – Live! DVD will be released on 12/17.
