NEW MUSIC TUESDAY!

Season 8 Top 36 contestant, Alex Trugman (he’s dropped the Wagner hyphenate!) and Season 11 Top 24 contestant Jen Hirsh may not have made the finals of their respective American Idol seasons, but that doesn’t translate to a lack of talent. Au contraire.  Both have released solid albums, firmly in the singer-songwriter vein. You can listen to snippets at iTunes before you buy.

Alex Trugman – Marionette

American Idol Season 8 Top 36 contestant, Alex Trugman, released an album of songs called Marionette. The sound is mellow with a touch of jazz. You can listen to previews at iTunes.

Jen Hirsh – Myself in Two

American Idol Season 11 Top 24 contestant, Jen Hirsh, is finally able to release her new album, Myself in Two. It’s a collection of breezy pop songs, in the Colbie Caillat mold. Listen to snippets at iTunes.

    I’m still sorry Trugs didn’t make it into the finals and at least to Top 10 in S8.  He would have been a fun addition to the tour.  He’s a pretty good singer and I love his off-center sense of humor.

    Jen should have stuck with the breezy type Colbie Cailatt style instead of the big voiced diva belting she did for idol.

    Alex annoys me.

    I love Jen Hirsh’s album based on the snippet. Too bad I don’t live in US.
