New Danny Gokey Song and More from Summerfest

Danny Gokey returned home to Milwaukee this week to headline Wednesday at Summerfest, “the World’s Largest Music Festival.”

Danny performed an updated concert set running close to two hours, featuring his new single Second Hand Heart (now on iTunes), songs from his debut album, and several new or rarely seen covers. Opening for Danny was the Milwaukee Sophia’s Heart Choir.

A new acoustic segment in Danny’s headlining set includes a version of LeAnn Rimes’ I Need You and (update) Daniel Bedingfield’s If You’re Not the One. Sharing the spotlight with Danny are background vocalist  Jamie Fraley and her husband Brandon, Danny’s music director, accompanied by lead guitarist Matt Reviere. Jamie normally works with Carrie Underwood, but tours with Danny when Carrie is not on the road.

While in Milwaukee, Danny visited country radio station FM106.1 WMIL Thursday for a special listener event at which he played his new single, and also introduced a second new song titled “Win Me Over.”

Listen below! (update) The writers of Win Me Over are Mallary Hope, Jon Michael Henderson, and Lynn Hutton. Danny and Mallary have done some events together, she seems quite excited that he is singing one of her songs.
