Nancy Grace Wardrobe Malfunction Dancing With the Stars

Uhm. Yeah.  You’d think those TV wardrobe people would be all about TAPING DOWN THE GIRLS. But I guess not.

Nancy Grace’s high-spirited quick-step on Monday night’s Dancing with the Stars led to a major wardrobe malfunction, of which she was completely unaware of at first (as you can see in the photo above).

The camera people knew what was going on, because after their dance finished the shot went immediately to some rather stunned looking audience members. The camera cuts back to a still exposed and unaware Nancy. Tom Bergeron, always thinking on his feet said “Let me help you out a little bit, as the camera cut back to the audience. (check out the traumatized looking little boy. Heh.)

When Nancy finally realizes what’s going on, she buries her head in her partner’s chest. “On the European version of Dancing With the Stars, that would be perfectly fine,” quips Tom.

Her scores were solid, 21 in a 4 way tie for 4th place. See the video below

I watched her dance routine and never even noticed. That’s how observant I am. :(

LOL…. I heard the comment about the European version but missed what exactly happened.

  • larc

That wouldn’t have happened if there had been more wardrobe or less of what caused it to malfunction. ;)

LOL those camera people were really on the ball. The shot was so quick it wasn’t at all obvious what was going on. Lucky her! But the funniest part to me is that on two of the cut-aways to the audience, everyone within view is sitting there stonefaced, still, and silent, while you hear wild clapping and cheering on the soundtrack. Very strange juxtaposition.

So that’s why there was that shot of the audience looking like that. Maybe next week they should put her in a different type of dress? Or tape the girls down? She’s way too large chested for plunging necklines and a lot of moving.

    Same here.

as a European, I stared at the photo for far too long, trying to see this malfunction. I thought her whole breast fell out, not just half a nipple

slightly awkward but no big deal

Someone needs to mash that Nancy Grace clip with the guy in the XFactor audience acting like his eyes were on fire.

  • Grammie Kari

After the dance, I saw the shots of the audience sitting there stonefaced and thought they were protesting something. I then switched to The Sing-Off. Thanks MJ for keeping us up-to-date on this “important” news! LOL!

I thought she did a pretty good job, and maybe this malfunction will give her one mor week.

That cutaway to the audience didn’t make sense. Everyone was sitting like statues. It was more like an emergency edit in other words not a live shot. They must have something like that for this show as the costumes that make the women wear must lead to all kinds of malfunctions.

However, it does highlight the puritanical nature of Americans when something so minor as that needed emergency cutaways because people would get so flustered.

I don’t feel so bad now- I watched it live and never noticed a thing. So much for my powers of observation.

I’m not a huge Nancy Grace fan, but she did a good job- let’s hear it for the more- hmmm- mature woman, lol.

I haven’t watched the show since it premiered, but when I first saw this video, I didn’t see it at first until the camera really zoomed in. I think she handled the crisis pretty well. I agree mj about the wardrobe people. They should have known better.

I think she did a solid job on her quickstep.

Lol, my good friend from high school is the head costume designer for this show! I can’t wait to see his Facebook page this morning!

  • TwigLA

Without the still shot above, I wouldn’t have noticed a thing. Tom is a master when it comes to malfunctions, though.

Nancy was surprisingly quite good, and I’m a definite non-fan of hers. I thought that gown was very slimming and flattering. It’s a shame the costumer didn’t allow for her ample boobage and add a little more room for give and lace in that area.

This might be the best day ever for Joel McHale!

  • upsidedawn

I forgot to even watch for the malfunction when I was watching the video!

Believe it or not, I have never seen Nancy Grace in action on the court shows, although I’ve heard about her a little. So I just feel kind of neutral about her. It’s nice to watch someone’s dancing without having already formed some sort of negative opinion based on other things about them outside DWTS. I think she does very well here.

Her hair looks very pretty, too, flowing down like that. I guess they gave her extensions? She should grow out her own hair to that length. It’s quite attractive on her.

I may be wrong but I think the camera cutaway is for her not be embarrassed, more than the people watching. Perhaps the ABC censors too.

So glad that I’m not the only who missed the malfunction. The clip looked like a still, frankly, and yes, I’m sure is at the ready if anything is amiss.

She really did do a nice job on the quickstep. But with her busy life, I can’t imagine that she’s anxious to have long hair – just no time to deal with it in real life.

While I would not dispute our country’s odd obsession/revulsion to nudity, I cannot imagine a nip-slip that would interest me less than this. Maybe Carson K. or Chaz B., but even that proosition is iffy. The cut-aways were actually appreciated here and were as much out of respect for Ms. Grace who was clearly more embarassed by this than the vile hokum she spews on her television show.

  • Reflections On Life

Feel bad for Nancy but she handled it well. She seemed embarassed but not overly mortified, which is a good thing.

Honestly, it shouldn’t be such a big deal for the audience that they get “flustered”.

  • callmecrazy

I totally didn’t notice it yesterday while watching the live east coast feed but what I did notice was the cut to the ‘audience’ looking quite bored. I was like WTF? Now it makes sense.

This reminds me of the Seinfeld eppy with Elaine’s Christmas card nip slip…*ha*

  • Grammie Kari

Glad to hear the shots of the audience was a PRE-TAPED view, not actually the reaction of the audience. It doesn’t make sense though. That shot was so quick, I really didn’t notice anything wrong with Nancy. Maybe because of the color of her dress?

  • me1

I thought the network showed class. I’m so proud of the camera people to have caught this before it aired. Even if it did show, she has pretty boobies anyways.
