It has been long before I can find some useful articles about Laptop Batteries. Your views truly open my mind. All of them go through first ballot. It is just very tough to just pick 5 nominations out of the up to 750 valid submissions, and that creates the risk for fluke entries. Imagine, for instance, if the VFTW members were quick enough to reach voters and put Tatiana up there? She wouldn’t have to go through a second phase, she’d be immediately up for nomination…

First ballot ‘â€œ This is the stage we are at now. All the official entry lists are sent out to everyone eligible to vote (I wish we were!). The votes are due on October 9. Think of that as the judges’ round.

I heard that Life After You is Daughtry’s next single, but why would they submit it if first ballot is due Oct 9, when No Surprise is still spinning strong, and Life After You hasn’t even gained any traction? Weird.

I’m thinking about the whole first balloting to 25… I wonder if DC would make the first cut down to 25 for BNA. There are definitely 25 worthy artists in that list of 300-plus, IMO. Or is the first balloting process not for the general fields? Feel like I heard that somewhere.

The links to submissions don’t work anymore. Wonder why. Now I wish I had copied and saved the rock submissions and some others. Oh well. Maybe they will come back, but maybe we weren’t meant to see them.

Last year they were only posted for a short time as well. They always get deleted pretty quickly. Since so many were watching it, I am sure that someone will post it on their own files…

As for liabilities, it WAS the Recording Academy who set it up for a leak so only they can be blamed…

I see that Daughtry is submitted for Record of the Year for “Life After You.” What song is that? Is it his next single off the cd? I expected “No surprise” and it was a “surprise” that it was a different song, lol.

I’m hoping for Best New Male Artist nomination for Cook.

It’s not separated by gender, there’s just one BNA award for both men and women. He’s nominated for Best New Artist.

What she said. Epic fail. *sticks tongue out at RCA* Super happy about the rock category decision, on principle, even if he doesn’t nab any noms, but bummed (also on principle) that Cook cowrote the best song on his album and recorded it beautifully in two takes in the eleventh hour and RCA didn’t even submit it in a vocal category, much less Song Of The Year.

Yes..epic fail again. Permanent really should have been submitted. It’s the kind of song that would probably get widespread critical acclaim. Light On stands a small chance because the vocals are really gorgeous (although the only live performance I like is the acoustic one). CBTM doesn’t stand a chance in hell. His best chance is with the best new artist nomination, which I think he really does deserve. As popular as Cook was during idol, I do think that a lot of people don’t realize how talented he is until they see him in concert or see him perform a song more suited to his style (like Permanent). I blame RCA for that. Tired of trying to rationalize what they do.

Apparently, Tatiana thought it was legal because she released it on her own without label backing…
