I found these at Vote for the Worst.

Commercial #1 features a peek at the big EXCITING changes that will make American Idol Season 8 all that more AWESOME. OMG! But of course, it’s still the same show (with the same crappy singers) all of America has come to love.

Commerical #2 touches upon the emotional moments the producers have been promising for the coming year. We see contestants near tears, thanking the judges, and looking oh-so thrilled to be advancing to Hollywood.

VFTW makes note that super-plant Joanna Pacitti is featured in both commericals…

Video after the JUMP…

    Angela Martin! Yay!!

  • Duke

    You never disappoint me, mj!

poor Joanna- unless she sings like mariah, girl don’t stand a chance.

i liked baracuda chick! the rapping, not-so-much.

  • GEEK4VOCAB

I don’t notice a single girl standing out. I think VFTW needs a new hobby.

  • Trina

LOL I didn’t notice anyone standing out either, everyone went by so quick. But its interesting if she is being spotlighted twice. It may or may not mean anything..oh wait DC was featured in 2 different commercials so maybe it does :laugh_tb:

  • leome

After watching both the only person I remember is the barracuda girl. The rest went so fast their faces didn’t stay in my memory. Is barracuda girl Angela Martin?

  • houstonrufus

I just can’t bear those awful auditions. I’d rather go to the dentist. Every day. For a week. Or maybe longer. ugh.

  • hollygo9

uh-oh, being a female prominently featured in the early commercials is a jinx. You may make the top 12, but you will not win.

  • LK08

Does anyone know whose music that was during the second commercial?

  • Autumn

LK08-I don’t know who it was but it sounded like David Cook to me…………

  • Garnetstar

    Nope not David…LOL

  • Trina

That song is by Staind and it’s called “All I Want”

  • bigjr6633

Angela Martin is the girl in the second clip, you can see at the .10 mark, she auditioned last year in case anyone remembers that, her audition is actually still on youtube. I’m so glad she came back and is it wrong that I don’t like this Joanna Pacitti girl already?

Ohh I thought it was Daughtry for a second! Haha (the song)

  • LK08

widz- I also thought it was Daughtry. It’s too bad they didn’t use a former idol contestant’s music

I don’t think Joanna is really featured “prominently” in both commercials… it took me like 3 viewings to find her in the first one, but I totally picked her out right away in the “emotional” one.

  • itsalleternal

Hopefully Angela is this year’s Gina Glocksen and makes it on the second try…

  • cheese

Yeah, Sarah, no one stuck out to me, either. I didn’t bother re-watching though – I didn’t see anything all that interesting in either commercial (not that I would ever consider NOT watching this cheesy show)

  • Scifisam

Barracuda girl is Emily Wynne-Hughes, a rumored member of the top 50. She seems like she’ll be fun.

I think the worsters are claiming Joanna is the screaming girl at 13 seconds in the first one. In the second one she’s the first person and says “Thank you so much” all teary eyed.

I’m really hoping that girl Kara talked to was a nanny or something, otherwise that question would just be (even more) awkward.

  • earthy

Plant/Ringer or whatever other way you want to call it this Joanna isn’t doing anything different then others were allowed to do in the past but she’s being talked about before the show probably more so the others.

I’m not a fan of it but this has been allowed so until they change the rules (if they ever do) then she deserves a fair chance.

I definately would rather see a fresh person without any recording history but it’s American Idol’s fault for allowing them in (as long as they aren’t under a contract) and it’s not Joanna or any other person who might be considered a “plant” fault as they are taking advantage of the opportunity which you can’t blame them.
