Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I really feel like Ryan doesn’t like Kris for some odd reason. I remember Kris was on his show a couple months ago and he was a total douche to Kris. And don’t even get me started on Ryan agreeing with Simon about how Kris was ranked low on the Idol winners list. And then now Ryan is tweeting about how excited he is that NYC is catching up to Little Rock on this Kradison free concert thing. Seriously, it’s like he has it in for Kris or some shit.

I’m gonna call you on this one. I don’t think Ryan dislikes Kris any more than he dislikes Taylor. They’re good people, and it sounds like Ryan likes them as people. He’s like anyone else. He had a favorite, and in this case it’s kind of understandable. Ryan is the epitome of LA, and Adam represents that’ ¦in all it’s glossy, shallow, poseur glory.

Give Ryan time. He’ll come around. Besides, his station dislikes all Idol music. I think they hold their nose when they play Kelly’s music, it’s that bad.

Well, that’s the vibe I always get whenever Ryan talks about Kris on air or comes remotely ten feet of Kris. I don’t listen to radio much, so I don’t really know the history of how Idols are treated in this medium, but I guess if that’s the way they treat all Idols, then I guess there’s no conspiracy here LOL

I remain pretty annoyed, though, that Ryan keeps on telling people to vote more so Little Rock doesn’t win. He seems peeved that Kris’s hometown will be the recipient of this free show.

Also, Ryan mainly cares about Ryan so he’ll hop on any train that is headed to success. I guess this is why he agreed w/ Simon so readily after the show.

Okay, I may be thinking too much, but I remember talking about the slow and steady and the tortoise and the hare after the season ended. I may have started this, but not sure, so if not just forget I posted this. LOL!

Anyway, I do think this describes him to a T. (Tortoise, get it? har, har )

Sometimes I get discouraged, but this is definitely one of the times I’m quite encouraged!

I hope Adam’s next single takes off. I hope to watch him on Letterman on Wednesday.

Also, a little bummed that John Mayer already has an opener-Michael Franti. (RE: Lyndsay Parker’s Reality Rocks interview.)

I think it’s hilarious that the station with a morning show hosted by Ryan, and in the city that hosts the show can’t even play the music. Even the hits!

Kirsten can explain this so much better than me but just going by memory from last year, there were no new adds to stations the last 2 weeks of the year. As soon as Christmas is over, then the year-end countdowns kick in. Going by this year’s Calendar, Christmas and New Years fall on Friday this year so the earliest the year end countdowns would be done with things slowly getting back somewhat to normal would be Monday (1/4).

Lucy, I think you may be right about the tipping point on HAC. You never know with Top 40. With those 4 adds a day early it’s a good sign, and if he can keep the momentum in the new year he may be able to force Top 40 to pay attention…although not KIIS. I’ve been here long enough to know they suck. Which one is KBIG?

I still can’t believe LLWD may have legs! Hee

(1) As I understand it, itunes passes are treated the same way as preorders for soundscan purposes in terms of when the sales hits. I’ve seen nothing one way or the other, but I suspect that they are also treated the same way as preorders for purposes of the itunes album chart the week that the CD becomes available. The fact that Kris’s first day outpeaked FYE’s supports that to me, given what we saw of their respective preorder rankings.

(2) KIIS in LA has pretty much never played DC’s music, while KBIG plays it quite a bit and had DC as a guest DJ for a week. I have trouble seeing an HAC station ever limiting itself to songs added by a CHR station, but particularly not a CHR station, like KIIS, that leans heavily toward rhythmic music, which is the part of CHR that HAC is unlikely to play.

(3) It’s not completely unusual for lead singles to see a boost when the CD drops. So much promo at that time. But yes, it does look good for LLWD staying strong through the holiday freeze.

(4) I fully believe that the decision was made that FYE would be the lead single, but that something (and maybe it was the leader stations not liking it) has shifted the plan.
