I still cannot figure out the difference between this two iTunes charts below.
But looks like quite a lot more women on the charts though.
And where is Allison’s single ?Is it also played on radio ?
Will playing the singles on radio increase their sales ? I thought exposing the song on YouTube gets more attention .

So far10 more stations have reportedly added LLWD today — the first day of the “official” radio stations adds…I assume there will e a bunch more to follow the next few days

What does a ‘bullet’ mean?

Means that it is increasing in spins which is a positive. Even if a song goes down in the ranking (because it was passed by a song that is gaining faster), having a positive spincrease shows forward momentum. Likewise, when a song falls up the chart (higher rank due to songs going re-current or falling faster than it), the lack of spincrease shows that the song is stalling or falling.

Daughtry was never a solo artist. Chris’ band was formed and photographed (even though they didn’t play) as part of Chris’ first album. Did I misunderstand what you were trying to say?

Just a note: AT40 (both the Top 40 and HAC versions) tends to be behind the charts by about two weeks and also does not match up exactly with the charts.

Generally, going recurrent is a good thing. It means that your song had enough longetivity that it satisfied the standard for recurrency.

There are a lot of white male artist who have achieved success on the pop charts but as groups rather than solo artists (JoBros, Weezer, AAR, 3OH!, Nickleback, etc, etc) . Adam is in that unique position of coming from Idol where you are forced into being a solo artist even if you have a “band” sound, which is what happened with Cook and Daughtry initially. I’m not sure if there is necessarily a force working against the white male solo artist. I think that guys in the pop/pop-rock/rock genre like to form bands, because half the fun is coming up with the musical arrangements…it’s a culture that starts in high school. There are always tons of young guys who want to be drummers, guitarits or bass players and aren’t really interested in singing, so it makes sense to form a band. Not so much with females…most want to sing with or without their own instrument. Idol sort of skirts the issue and provides these solo male artists with ready-made “bands”, but it’s just not the way things naturally happen. Even Adam had a band before idol, correct?

By the way…Eminem is another solo white male artists who kills on the pop charts. I still can’t tell what kind of music will dominate on Adam’s album, but he once mentioned wanting to duet with Missy Elliot, so I would say that anything’s possible. If Adam wants to dance and have dance videos, he will probably need some songs that sound like Timberlake or Madonna or even BEP. You can’t dance to too many other genres without looking stupid, especially if you’re a guy (I’m pretty sure he won’t be doing hip-hop, reggae or latin pop). Unless he wants to faux dance like Lady Gaga…I hope not.

Adam is not going to get on Urban radio, even if its a dance song.

This made me laugh because it seems, to me, to be a complete truism. I really don’t see Adam ever being classified as urban or soul or r&b…that would be like saying he might someday break into christian contemporary or, heaven forbid, country music.

See, I don’t think Anoop has much of a chance for these genre’s either…and truth be know, even though Matt is biracial I don’t think this is his niche either. It’s the unique artist who can transcend the stereotypical preconceptions that are embodied within a certain genre. I still can’t get over the fact that Justin made it in….didn’t see that coming when Nsync was around.

I can’t see Adam doing anything that sounds like JT at all. Adam doesn’t have an ounce of R&B in him in my opinion

ITA. Adam is not R&B. Adam is not going to get on Urban radio, even if its a dance song. Ain’t gonna happen. But he shouldn’t need it anyway, he’s aiming straight for pop.

Justin Timberlake works with many hiphop artists. That’s how he achieved most of his big success with the last album. And he’s the ONLY white guy to achieve chart success in that area. I can’t see Adam doing anything that sounds like JT at all. Adam doesn’t have an ounce of R&B in him in my opinion.

One can hope On the subject of Adam being one of the few male artists out there who may go more of the pop-electronic route, I always brought up JT (falsetto and all) as someone very current and successful who would be similar to an ‘Adam style’ , especially with songs like SexyBack: that is a song that Adam could have done, imo.

I know JT has more of an R&B influence than Adam is likely to have, but I still see the similarities.

IMO The only similarity between Adam and JT is that the former will try to break the pop format and JT is the only white male solo artist that has that kind of success.
JT is soul/RnB singer and has a lot of collaborations with famous rappers and RnB producers.

I used to dislike Justin a lot and I am still not that much into his music but he is really multitalented, he has good dance skills, is a decent actor and he is the best and most funny host on SNL every year.

Kelly new single is doing well on the radio once more, it’s disturbing how an album that got great reviews and soon will have 3 top 10 hits is not selling more than that.
Maybee they will move more units at the end of the year.
