Monday Morning Mediabase Update: Oct 5-11

Two milestones this week – one from the UK and one from Nicaragua.

One Direction continues its march into battle with Justin Bieber next month with their single “Drag Me Down” leading the way. The song went top 10 on Pop this week (Justin is poised to have his first number one in that format) and continues in the top 30 on HAC. The song also catipulted into the top 40 on AC meaning that it is now charting on all three mainstream formats.

Over on Country, Chase Rice (who got our attention on Survivor: Nicaragua) moves into the top 5 with his “Gonna Wanna Tonight”. That is the second single from his current album that has achieved that height. “Ready, Set, Roll” peaked at top 5.

Finally, Kelly Clarkson’s “Invincible” returned to the top 30 on AC.

Happy Thanksgiving to all our Canadian readers!
