The Monday Morning Mediabase Milestones Memo contains 9 – for the third time, 3 from Kelly; 2 from One Direction and one each from Candice, Fantasia, Lee and Mandisa
Kelly is leading the pack of Christmas crooners up the AC chart. Her original “Underneath the Tree” climbs into the top 15 with its sights clearly set on the top of the chart. “Blue Christmas” and “Please be Home for Christmas” both move into the top 30.
One Direction has a good week prior to their album release. “The Story of My Life” achieves top 20 on Pop and arrives in the top 50 on the HAC chart. Since this is Black Friday week, albums will drop today and the race is on. Danielle Bradbery, the most recent Voice winner, is also dropping releasing her album this week into the Black Friday madness. I predict 1D is most likely to win that BattleRound.
Candice Glover, the most recent winner of Idol, launches a new song onto the UAC chart. “Cried” is the reboot version of a debut single for her album release. It’s a great song, so let’s hope Jimmy et al have this album on the right track now.
Also debuting on UAC is Season 3 Idol winner, Fantasia. Girl already has 2 songs on that chart and is taking Broadway by storm. This time, it is the title track from her “Side Effects of You” entering the top 40.
Lee DeWyze also debuts this week. The Season 9 Idol winner’s “Flight” reaches the top 50 on HAC.
Finally, who can forget Mandisa? For the 10th (TENTH!) week she tops the CAC chart with “Overcomer”. It looks like this reign may end in the next couple of weeks, but what a reign.
Daughtry also returns to the top 40 on AC with their “Waiting for Superman”. We should start seeing HDD numbers for his album today.
