Monday Morning Mediabase Update: June 6-12

Fantasia races onto the UAC chart this week with the second single from her upcoming fifth album (July 29th). “Sleeping With the One I Love” debuts in the top 30 on that chart. Fantasia has become a staple on the UAC format.

Fifth Harmony achieved milestones with two different songs. Their debut single from their current album (“7/27”) moved into the top 20 on HAC while their latest single “All in My Head (Flex)” went top 30 on Rhythmic.

Lauren Daigle’s “Trust in You” continues on top of the CAC chart.

Drake tops the BB200 for a sixth week (135K (-11%), 81K SEAs, 32K sales, 22K TEAs) and Beyonce’s “Lemonade” is parked in second (69K (-13%), 48K sales). Paul Simon’s “Stranger to Stranger” debuts at 3 with 68K (67K in sales) and is the top selling album of the week. Volbeat gets their highest chart position at 4th with 51K (48K in sales). Maren Morris tops the Country chart and comes in 5th on the BB200 with “Hero” (45K, 37K sales). At 6th is Rihanna’s “Anti” (40K, -6%), 7th sees Ariana Grade’s “Dangerous Woman” (33K, -33%), 8th heralds Dan + Shay’s “Obsessed: (33K, 26K sales), 9th hosts Blake Shelton’s “I’m Honest” (33K, -48%) and Twenty One Pilot’s hit a clear 10 with “Blurryface” (31K, -9%).

Billboard has a rundown of concert revenue in the UK which is doing rather splendid – generating $5.2B. There were 27.7M tickets sold – 10M to visitors from other lands. The live concert music scene contributes 40,000 jobs to the British economy.
