Monday Morning Mediabase Update: June 22-28

Six Milestones to end the Sixth Month of the year – One of those Milestones is a number one!

Another single, another number one for Carrie Underwood. Okay, there have been one or two of her singles that have been pipped at the post, but Carrie is pretty consistently able to get to number one. This time, it is “Little Toy Guns”, the second single from her Greatest hits album. It was an interesting race all week with first Blake Shelton (judge on the voice) pulling pulling ahead and then Carrie and then switch, switch, switch. Carrie ended the week at number one so she gets the nod for the Published chart and our Monday Morning Milestone chart. That means that the Country chart spends two weeks being topped by two different females (last week it was Kelsea Ballerini). I have to wonder when the last time that happened was. Blake, one of the founders of Bro Country, and his booze titled song may have missed his chance for the formal number one since Tim McGraw is moving up fast.

Kelly Clarkson hits double milestones this week with her second single from her seventh album. “Invincible” has been on a tear since its add date. It has gone top 15 on HAC and top 30 on AC. Her “Heartbeat Song” is also still in the top 10 in AC.

There were two other milestones on AC this week. Adam Lambert when top 40 on AC with his debut single from his third album (“Ghost Town”, “The Original High”) while Fifth Harmony debuted in the top 50. Their “Worth It” is now charting in four formats. “Ghost Town” is charting on all three mainstreem formats (top 20 HAC, top 30 Pop and top 40 AC).

Finally, we have Tori Kelly’s “Should’ve Been Us”. Her second single from her debut album went top 30 on Pop. That album was released last week and we should start seeing estimates for it today.

Also, Danny Gokey returns to the top 10 on CAC with “More Than You Think I Am”.
