Monday Morning Mediabase Update: Dec 30-Jan 5

We wave goodbye this week to the rest of the Christmas songs. Bye Christmas! Now the freeze is over and we have four Monday Morning Mediabase Milestones.

First up are the lads from across the seas. One Direction finally gets another top 10 song on Pop with the folk-pop leaning “Story of My Life”. The song also makes an appearance on AC debuting in the top 40 (almost top 30). That makes the song top 40 in the three mainstream formats.

Speaking of AC, we also have Daughtry making a move. Soaring up the chart into the top 30, “Waiting for Superman” is now top 25 in two formats (AC and HAC). Phillip Phillips “Gone, Gone, Gone” returns to the top 5.

Candice Glover, the latest winner of American Idol, goes top 30 in UAC with what is the debut single (“Cried) for her album. Fantasia is featured on Joe’s “Love & Sex” which has been going in and out of the top 20 for weeks (this week, it is in).

Also returning to a previous high is Kellie Pickler. “A Little Bit Gypsy” returns to the top 50 on Count47.
