Milestones this week from Idol, XF US and XF UK….that’s okay, The Voice is there for the right reasons and that’s not to create a superstar…or somebody who even gets played on the radio.

Let’s talk about Phil. He has milestones in 4 formats this week. First up, is HAC which has been kindest to him so far. His coronation song has gone top 15 in that format. Then, we have a trio of top 40 performances. “Home” has gone top 40 on AC, Pop and AAA. It is rare to see any Idol on AAA let alone in the top 40. This format is all about the singer-songwriter and paying your dues. For a coronation song to achieve top 40 in that format is doubly impressive. Jimmy Iovine has some mad Jedi A&R skills there and Phil sells it (even though he has been vocal about the song not representing him).

Next up is Cher Lloyd. Girl’s got game with “Want U Back” hitting milestones in two format. The song has gone top 10 on the powerful Pop chart and top 40 on Rhythmic. Also representing XF from fourth place, this time the US franchise, is Marcus Canty. His latest single “In and Out” went top 50 on Urban.

Finally, fourth place finisher from Season 7, Jason Castro has a new single out. “Only a Mountain” has sailed straight into the top 40 on CAC.

This is the daily numbers thread for Monday. Stats collected on Monday morning.

While I’m a bit peeved at Ms. Swift for pushing CJ out of t30 for now, these stats are encouraging:

Casey James, Casey James (less than 1,000, +20%, 46,000)

+20% six months after release means that new fans are buying. Yeah, yeah, 46K isn’t going to impress all the AI fandom, but i would say I’d much rather take a 20% increase six months out than a big splash at the beginning with no growth in fan base after the initial release.

    29 31 CASEY JAMES Crying On A Suitcase 1287 1182 105 8.246
    +42 Spins
    +20 Bullet
    +0.369 AI

Nice update. +42 spins is making me happy. ;-)

    355. Casey James-Crying On a Suitcase

New fans are buying this single. Sweet.

    Casey J (4)-COAS (Country)

After his 50+ adds in the first week, I am continually astonished that he steadily gains adds every week. With his video being widely released next week (and IMHO it’s much better than his first), I’m thinking this is going to be a really fun fall for Casey James’ fans.

If your only selling 500 a week and you have a 20 percent increase that is only 100 more cds. I think coas will sell big if it can move close to top 10. I dont think his cd will. People just arent buying cds anymore. I am more concerned now about darius rucker getting a deal monday. How are new artists supposed to make it when every week there is a deal that cancels out the recurrent

I think coas will sell big if it can move close to top 10. I dont think his cd will.

Remember, country music fans tend to still buy the whole album.

Plus. I think if COAS can do “its thing” and reach… geez, even top 15… then I’m betting CJ gets a third single -which is not untypical for country. I’m betting on Drive. They’ve done an acoustic vid that’s really professional. And they keep subtly pimping it – I can’t go thru all the pimp, it’s been a long day at work – but the label/mgmt has been.

So CJ isn’t done. Not by a long shot.

I never said he was done. If coas only makes top 15 he wont get  third single they will move on to the next cd. COAS is going to have become huge for him to have mo for a third.

Just a side note he was at cmt today. I am thinking they may get the debut of his video this weekend

glad I’m not the only one that thought Casey A.was the worst contestant from season 10.

  • Karen C

Right, I don’t think it ever was about casting pop stars, even if a few have, they don’t really fit into the typical pop star.  Most contestants did not fit into the mainstream. And I dont’ think this necessarily has to change.

Wow, Home, Top 40 AC, Pop AND AAA.  Standing O to Phillip and Jimmy Iovine, aka, Colonel Tom Parker:)

  • LVD

They will give Casey another single if COAS makes the top 15 or does make the top 15. Reaching the top 20 for new artist still means you have momentum. It is all about momentum. Even if you only make the top 40 if they think there is a song that could potentially give the artists the momentum they will release it. A new artist’s record is in any case usually more spotty, not every single will necessarily do well.

  • LVD

I dont know for me personally they have turned the studio production of Drive into a bit of a toothless tiger. The live version with more electric guitar or just plain acoustic, is a 100x better.
But there are many potential singles on the album, so it doesn’t matter.

OK, I’m gonna be the dummy here with this question. I haven’t checked song adds for a long time. Whatever happened to the mediabase addboard where you could see all of the stations that are playing a song? I tried to check home but now I need a login and password.

QueenBert Moscow concert was bigger with 90,000 attendance.
    Poland with 30,000.
