Kirsten, how can I get Quick Cut info for other artists? Do I have to be a member or something?

You don’t have to be a member to get Quick Cut Info (but you do for the rest of the options on the form linked below):

Mediabase Quick Cut Info

Instructions:

1) Enter the name of the song or artist (select appropriate radio button) and select “Go”. You will be presented with a list of songs that meet the search criteria.

2) Find the song that you want information on and change the PullDown menu that says “7 Days” to be “Quick Cut Data” for that song. Select the associated “Go>>” Button. You’ll be presented with a page that let’s you select the chart mode.

3) You can change the chart mode, but I like the Rolling chart. Select “Go>>”

And then you will finally see the Quick Cut Info. It will give you a summary of the size of the listening audience (in millions), the total number of spins and the number of spins in each format. It will also summarize the total number of listeners and spins over the lifetime of that song.

Also, does anyone know if I save a Quick Cut in my favorites, will it update automatically each time I view it?

Yes, it will update each day. The link queries based on the id of the song so it will always report the last 28 days of airplay (7 day chunks). It generally updates overnight so there is no point in visiting it more than once a day (unless you like to see the numbers

Kirsten, if you are reading in here, could I ask a big favor? Could you re-post the link to the Quick Cut Mediabase report for Cooks’s TOML? I can not for the life of me find your previous post with that link in it. Also, does anyone know if I save a Quick Cut in my favorites, will it update automatically each time I view it? Or is there some other way to get the Quick Cut info without subscribing to the service?

I love tracking the radio play numbers. Thanks in advance.

Is Cookie’s airplay for the magic rainbow song good? A friend in Texas said she heard it on her Top 40 station and she couldnt remember hearing any others winning songs in a while on there.

I’m guessing that ranking in the 600s on Alt radio means it was probably played one time somewhere. I don’t think Alt is where Cook will make his radio mark.

Kind of on the topic and just to share: Elliott is in Japan this week doing promo for his album which was just released there.

Japan has its own Billboard Hot 100 and Wait for You is now the #6 song on the Japanese charts. E is up there on charts with Leona Lewis as one of the top foreign pop artists breaking in Japan.

Kirsten, I appreciate this info very much. It’s interesting to see that Cook’s magic rainbow song was actually played on Alt radio.
