Monday Morning Mediabase Update – Nov 29-Dec 5

The Christmas songs continue to stomp all over the chart. Glee’s “Last Christmas” has surged into the top 6 on AC which is the highest any Glee song has ever been on any radio chart (IIRC). Their “We Need A Little Christmas” has reached the top 40. Who knew covers of a Wham! and Mame songs would be their ticket to the higher echelons of airplay?

Katharine McPhee is also moving two Christmas songs up the chart. Her “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” is having a merry old time as it hops into the top 30 AC. Doing even better is her “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” which has reached the top 10. That gives her two songs in the top 30 in the same format.

But let’s not forget those songs that aren’t Christmas songs. First up is Fantasia who notches yet another top 5 song with “I’m Doin’ Me” on the UAC format. That is her second single from her current album to reach top 5 in that format.

Lee DeWyze has reached the top 30 on the HAC format. This is his first top 30 song on the radio and this means we should be seeing some RTM results for him very soon.

Also reaching top 30 is the Jason Aldean/Kelly Clarkson duet, “Don’t You Wanna Stay” on Country. Matt’s “Thank You” has also returned to top 30.

Oh, and if I’m forced to X that Mickey Mouse pop-up add for his new video game one more time, I may have to go medieval on his a$$.
