I just posted my recap from last night’s show.

Who is staying for sure? Decent performances plus judges pimping = David Cook isn’t going anywhere. Who is a long shot to leave? David Archuleta.   It’s a long shot, but little David could possibly have been lost in the shuffle of last night’s confusing show.   But, his fan base is pretty strong, so probably not. Who is probably safe tonight? Syesha Mercado, who will probably be saved by a combination of decent performances, the pimp spot and Simon’s attempt to throw her under the bus. Who else is probably safe tonight? Jason Castro. His fan base went apoplectic when Paula Abdul screwed up and judged his second performance before he performed it live. He probably got the attention of a few casual AI viewers as well. Who is going home. Brooke White easily had the worst performance of the night, with “I’m a Believer”. Her second performance, “I Am…I Said” was good, but somehow, I think Brooke will be lost in the shuffle as voters, believing they are on the bubble, try to save Jason and Syesha.

    Although it’s not a result I’m especially pleased about MJ, I think your take on the situation is spot on. Brooke will go home tonight. No way do I think Jason is going home after the way Paula lit a fire under his fan base. And, Simon guaranteed that Syesha won’t go home.

    The ONLY chance Brooke has at another week, is if the golden child really did get lost in the chaos. Archie’s performances were so lacklasture, that I believe the only people voting for him last night were his committed fans. I don’t think he picked up much of the casual vote. (And, of course this is mostly just my wishful thinking LOL).

    MJ, I think you are dead on. I already put all my points on Brooke.

    I do agree there is an outside chance for an Archie upset, but I pray that doesn’t happen. Jason and Brooke would get the backlash from hell for that, and as a fan of both I am loathe to see something like that happen.

    My only concern now is that Brooke get a record deal. Oh mighty MJ, what do you think? Does she stand a decent shot?

    All mine are on Brooke too, and I didn’t even have any iffy moments about doing so either.

    I’m not sure if this is just me fully believing that Brooke is going home(which I’m not entirely sure), or just me not being able to bear to put any points under Jason’s name.

    Apparently this is why I don’t gamble: Too much of a heart.

    I guess I don’t want to put any points under Jason’s name until I ABSOLUTELY have to….which is next week.

    I don’t know if I should put it all on Brooke or split them with Jason.

    Brooke, I believe, is going to be one of the few contestants this year who will get a major label contract. If she gets good songs, I can totally hear her on the radio. She’s got a great recording voice…she’s Brooke White! lol

    All my points are on Brooke as well. Last night I was definitely one of the “apoplectic” Jason fans to whom mj refers. I’ve been dead wrong the past two weeks though, so maybe I should go counter-intuitive? Decisions, decisions. Gah!

    Hmm, maybe it’s about time I actually participated in the pool (not that I would get anywhere, LOL). Then again, I still have been dead wrong with the eliminations every single damn week (minus with Chikezie, but I was thinking Ramiele was more in trouble).

    LOL. You are better than me. I do not function without my Diet Coke in the morning – especially on Wednesday’s after I’ve been up late voting the night before LOL.

    Don’t be surprised if the pity votes for Brooke and Jason really hurt David Cook. I’m sure plenty of people spent their time bailing Jason and Brooke out and assumed David C. would be fine, but assuming doesn’t get him votes. This will be interesting. I really hope Brooke goes.
