Mike Fisher Confirms Engagement to Carrie Underwood: “We’re both obviously excited and very happy”

Wow! Congrats to Carrie.

There will be some juggling with both their traveling schedules, but I’m sure they know what’s up.

After 8 years, Carrie will be only the third Idol winner who is married (Ruben got married in 2008. Kris was married when he won). Kelly, Fantasia, Taylor, Jordin and Cook are still single. Lots of hussling to get a career started probably doesn’t leave a lot of time.

LOL – my husband plays golf with a guy who makes custom-fit mouth guards for a bunch of local athletes (many of whom are hockey players). A lot of those guys already have a $50,000 set of veneers to protect!

Also Mike’s official site updated with news about the engagement. It confirms that Mike asked Carrie’s father for permission (aw!) and that they plan to get married this coming summer.
