Watch Michael Johns perform an acoustic version of his single, “Heart on My Sleeve” on FOX Chicago.

Michael performed Wednesday night, in the Windy City, with the David Foster Hitman tour, alongside Ruben Studdard, Peter Cetera from Chicago, Philip Bailey from Earth Wind and Fire and Charice.

Michael tells FOX news that when he walked out on stage Tuesday night, the cast surprised him with a rendition of Happy Birthday.   Michael turned 31 on October 20.

Michael is so talented. I hope he garners more success from the David Foster tour. He deserves it.

OH the other MJ – love him too – it has been such a happy time on here lately for me, seeing all the Idols I love doing so well

  • Suzanne

You are so great at keeping up with the idols, MJ. MJsbigblog is such a one-stop shopping!

I don’t know how much I love the hat, but he’s so great. I wish he was my neighbor. And I wish Jim Cantiello lived on the other side.

Yay Michael! SO excited MJ is getting to tour with David Foster and Friends for the next month, it should be great promotion for his album. He sounds and looks fantastic as usual :)

thanks for posting this! Michael sounds good, and God he looks great. That man……

posting it for us meant I didn’t have to break my boycott of (yech) Fox News…..

    good luck, Michael!!

Not digging the hat either, but otherwise he looks and sounds great. Love this song acoustic! Nice to see Michael get to perform in bigger venues, even if it is part of larger production.

What a happy day here at MJ’s! I just need a clip of DC and my day will be perfect! Thanks MJ for keeping us informed about all of the Idols, past, present and future.

I don’t know if anyone has posted this before, and I’m kinda hesitant to post this, but just for record sake, this is something I noticed in the Billboard Boxscore chart –

179 Brooke White, Michael Johns, Benton Paul Knitting Factory
    Boise, Idaho
    Sept. 25, 2009
    $1,576
    68 /
    999
    1 /
    0
    $44, $19
    Knitting Factory Entertainment

    68 tickets sold? Wow.

  • LambertLover

Only 68? I think this is the perfect example of what Chris Sligh was referring to in his comments about life after the AI tour. Yep, no more crowds of 10,000 for most ex-idols. Back to life, back to reality. Sad.

I think that may have been the show where the date got screwed up and no one knew what was going on. From what I was told from friends who went to some of the other shows, there were far more people than that.

  • http://MJO judes

Yeah that’s right, this Boise date was changed at the last minute & was a smaller venue so hence the lesser numbers!! They are hoping to do some dates on the Eastern side , which is where a lot more of their fans are , so I hope that comes off!!
MJ seems to wear a hat on a “bad hair” day – & his hair is a bit longer now & as he was in the “windy city” – maybe it was a bit wind blown. No hat for his David Foster performance though!!

He’s singing She’s a Beauty here [ people walking in front at first - so stick with it]

Had no idea he was in The Chi! Where? Of course, I probably wouldn’t have gone anyway unless it was a small club. Not interested in David Foster and friends. ;-)

Did he and Brooke really charge $44 for a club show in Boise? No wonder!

Michael looking like the sexy beast he is! he sounds wonderful and looks yummy. I love heeezzz hat!
