It's interesting to see what working with a producer can do. I think the problem on AI is that the vocal coaches aren't supposed to help them too much with the arrangement and that's really where they need it since they have to limit the songs so much. The acoustics in that studio are horrible, with just a piano he did a great job. And I too think that performance does remind me of Taylor, last Tuesday I actually though 'what if Taylor had gotten hold of that song for country night'.
