MJO has posted lots more interviews and performances from Michael Johns current whirlwind trip through his native Australia.

My favorite clip is Michael singing “Across the Universe”–an underrated Idol performance if you ask me–on the TV show Sunrise from 9/30.

There’s another beautiful performance of “Fools Gold” from Monday’s Mornings with Kerri-Anne, and a clip of Michael visiting the Idols backstage at Australian Idol. And, an interview with 106.9 NXFM right here.

    Across the Universe really was underrated on Idol. I loved it – both on Idol and this rendition! Fool’s Gold is good, too – love his soulful voice! The interviewer at the Polo Cup seems to like Michael – a lot!

    Nice! Totally agree on Across the Universe, one of my favorite performances of the season. It’s reminiscent of Rufus Wainwright’s rendition. Love it.

    The TrendTV was the best Michael Johns interview I’ve seen. He maintained his wit, and charm, with none of the “shock boot” stuff. He’s a keeper and I am buying whatever the bloke is selling. I’m in, hook, line, and sinker.

    Evidently the Jason Mraz cover has been pulled, I can’t view it. Damn.

    Love the KAK interview. So cool how Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks are big fans. This adds to a long list of celebrities who are MJ fans.

    This version of Across the Universe was so beautiful. I absolutley loved when he sang it on idol, but I love this one more! And Fool’s Gold is just fantastic. Great interviews, too.

    Way to go Mj- loved hearing Across The Universe again. Way to keep out there and not forgotten. Hanging out with Ashton and Ellen? I knew with that personality and charm added to his singing voice he would someone that others would like to hang out with and have around

    Just like in the show, I love Across the Universe; I agree that ATU was very underrated. Also, I love the “I’m Yours” cover. Although I miss the quirkiness of Mrazmatazz, MJ infuses much of his style so that he owns the piece rather than just MJ sings JM.

    The thing about MJ that I’m kind of late understanding is that he is really just a big goober, hidden inside a body and behind a face that look more like a matinee idol. Usually guys who look like that are too cool for school or vain or into their reflections, but he seems like a total nutball. It makes me understand why he and Cook hit it off so well. Two total goofs, having fun being goofy together. I hope those two crazy kids stay in touch.

    Wow, ATU is absolutley beautiful and Fools Gold is totally awesome as well. Can’t wait for a CD from Him. Love his work!! I did hear “I’m Yours” it also was very very well done. It really sent the shivers up my spine.

    Thanks so much for posting these great interviews and performances of Michael MJ! He is just so charming in these interviews and completely irresistible already but then actually hearing him sing…amazing. ATU and I’m Yours are fabulous but I really love hearing Michael’s original music with Fools Gold. Keep bringing it on Michael, I can’t wait for the album!

    I agree about ATU. It’s really amazing!

    I think Michael changed “Fool’s Gold” arrangement a bit. This version sounds the best so far. And “I’m Your’s” is perfect.

    LOL! I love all those Michael’s performances and interviews.

    I remember when Across the Universe got panned by the judges. I was open mouthed. Simon was too harsh on MJ a lot of the times.

    I haven’t watched these performances yet. Dang work.

    Wow, great interviews and performances! Thankc, MJ. I agree with you on Across the Universe. I still can’t believe that Randy and Simon were so down in his performance. I know it’s not everything but do think that it did have some impact in why he was sent home 8th.

    It’s nice to see how excited he still is about the support he’s had from fans and the stars he’s met. That woman getting a tattoo sounds a little scary, though.
