Michael Castro’s Mysterious Message Explained

Michael Castro, brother of Season 7 contestant Jason Castro advanced to Hollywood after he auditioned for Idol this year.   Michael almost made the Top 50–he was cut in the rooms on the last day of the Hollywood Rounds.

Update: Michael explains the message posted at Planet Kidz on his My Space dated today:

The Planet Kidz website has a …Message from Michael Castro addressing why i cancelled my last 2 shows with them. I did not write that message nor was I aware it existed until just now.

It says I had to cancel the shows because the producers called me back onto American Idol. This is not true. Obviously there must have been some SERIOUS confusion as to why I had to cancel the shows. Anyways I didn’t write that message and it not true.

I will not be appearing back on Idol.

Sorry for the confusion.

He leaves a message at the Planet Kidz website.   Last week, he was touring some middle schools in Texas, but he had to cancel his last two appearances on March 6 and 7:

Hey Kids! I am sorry to have to do this to you all but I am having to cancel my tour on March 6th and 7th at Huffines Middle School and Burleson Community Center due to my upcoming reappearance on American Idol.   My producers notified me last minute that I had to be back in California this week. I do sincerely apologize and just know that I had a blast with all of you who came to my shows! I wish you all the best!

Could this reappearance have something to do with the big “twist” the producers have been promising? Or maybe the producers wanted him in the audience for his brother Jason’s Idol appearance, scheduled for last week’s results show, but later scrapped by the producers.

Whatever it is, Michael probably wasn’t supposed to mention it…anywhere.   Kinda like Jason Castro’s ill-fated appearance–news of which popped up all over Idol boards and blogs, and then quickly disappeared.   It turns out his street team (led by his mother) began promoting the appearance before it was authorized by TPTB.
